There was a noticeable chill in the air as October ran towards its end. The trees were nearly bare of their leaves, now piled high around the campus, and many of the students were bundling up as they prepared for a New England winter. And quite a few were preparing for Halloween, hanging up cheap decorations around their dorms and putting together costumes to enjoy the evening.

Many, however, had chosen to completely ignore the holiday and still stay inside and mind their own business. Jim and Mako were among them, settled in on the couch as they played video games and let the Halloween shenanigans play out elsewhere. After all, as enjoyable as free candy could be, neither one thought it was worth the effort of getting dressed up and walking around campus for. Especially when they could get the same stuff heavily discounted on the first of November.

"Yes, if finally came!" Jessica cheered as she entered the dorm, practically jumping for joy and clutching a shipping box tightly in her hands. "And just in time, too. I'm gonna change right now." And just like that she was gone, vanishing into her bedroom without further explanation.

"Bet it's some sexy undies." Mako said, smirking at the thought. "Somethin' see through, or maybe crotchless."

"That doesn't seem like her style." Jim muttered, more focused on the game. "It's probably a costume for tonight. Would you please stop rolling the Warthog, or just let me drive."

"So maybe she got some sexy, spooky undies." The shark chuckled, going out of her way to flip the trick a few more times. "You help her pick out something naughty?"

"What? No! I don't even get to pick out sexy clothes for my girlfriend. Fuck it, I'm walking."

"Alright, alright, you can drive." Mako relented with a laugh. "These things flip so easy, it's hard to resist."

"Not if you know how to drive." Jim said with a grin. "Watch and learn."

"My way was more fun." The shark pouted as Jim expedited their digital journey. "You've really never gotten sexy clothes for Mel, or any girlfriend?"

"I wouldn't know what to get." Jim admitted. "Never really saw the point. You wear it for a few minutes then take it off. I'd rather just skip it and get to the good stuff."

"That's one way to put it." Mako consented. "I bet Kari'd have some good arguments for the stuff though. She loves that stuff."

"Probably. But she went home to do the trick or treating thing with her brothers and sisters."

"Just us tonight then. Wanna get something delivered?"

"Absolutely."

"Pretty Soldier Sailor V, reporting for duty!" Jess surprised them both when she suddenly burst back into the room, striking a pose as she showed off the iconic costume. "So, what d'you guys think?"

They took in the sight, from the bow in her hair, the white top and short skirt, and down to her thigh boots. "Told you it was a costume." Jim finally said with a triumphant smirk.

"Hey, she could have sexy panties on under that skirt."

"Guys, c'mon! I worked really hard on this cosplay." Jessica pouted, ignoring the panties comment for now. "Tonight's my first night really trying it out and I wanna know how it looks."

"Didn't it just come in the mail?"

"The only thing I ordered was the mask." Jess explained. "The rest I made myself, with some help from my mom and her sowing machine."

"It looks great." Jim offered, giving the costume another look. "I don't know much about Sailor Moon, though. Doesn't she have pigtails?"

"Long twin tails, but I'm not dressed as Sailor Moon." The fox explained. "I'm Sailor Venus. She was always my favorite. If I had time I'd dye my hair, but it'd take forever to dye all my hair blonde."

"Looks good to me." Mako said. "Which costume party you goin' to? Gamma Kappa? Or the one that anime geek club is holding?"

"None on campus. One of my friends from high school is throwing a party at her place. Me and Chip are gonna head over there in a few. Actually, I should probably get going so we aren't late."

"Don't do anyone I wouldn't do."

"Doubt that'll be a problem." Jess replied to the shark's advice. "I'll probably be back before midnight. Maybe. Don't wait up."

Wrapped up in a warm jacket and purse in hand, Jessica waved farewell to her friends, only to get stopped by an unwelcome face the moment she opened the front door. Her smile quickly turned into a scowl at the sight of Francis, hand raised as though he was about to knock on the door. "What do you want?"

"Good evening, Jessica." Francis quickly recovered tipping his hat towards her. "Are you heading out to a party? Your costume looks great."

"What. Do you. Want. Francis." Jessica reiterated, already showing no patience for the goat. "You have ten seconds."

"I just want to talk." Francis admitted, cutting right to the chase. "I feel like we had a misunderstanding, and now you won't return my calls or answer my texts. It almost feels like you don't want to talk to me."

"Oh gee, that's probably because I don't want to talk to you." Jessica snapped, in no mood to pull her punches. "Unless you think I misunderstood when you called me a selfish skank bitch, I really don't think we have anything to talk about."

"Alright, so I may have been a little overly emotional. But I was heartbroken at the time. Can you blame me for lashing out a bit while in such an emotionally compromised state?"

"Yes!" Jess was quick to reply. "I've had my heart broken before, too! I know how much it hurts. It fucking sucks. I was miserable for weeks."

"So then you understand."

"But not once did I blame my heart breaker!" She continued. "And I didn't try to force or guilt him into dating me against his will. Cause that would fucking suck even more. I don't want to date you, Francis. I don't think of you that way, and now I never will."

"But Jessica, we're perfect for each other. No other guy on campus could possibly make you as happy as I could."

"Luckily there are lots of guys who don't go to this school." Jessica countered, not backing down an inch. "Or maybe I'll date a girl. No matter what I will never date you. Ever. And now you're making me late. Goodbye, Francis. Go find someone else to harass."

Francis opened his mouth to speak, but Jessica forced her way passed him, speeding down the hallway and out of sight. The goat snorted as he watched her leave, grumbling a few profanities under his breath.

"Leave her alone." Francis nearly jumped out of his skin, an annoyed looking snow leopard standing just inside the door glaring at him. "Just walk away and leave her alone."

"Mind your own business."

A low growl emanated from Jim's chest, her gray eyes flashing with simmering rage. "Leave her alone, or I'll rip your balls off and cram them down your throat."

Her threat made, Jim slammed the door shit in his face. She took a deep breath, steadying her nerves before returning to the couch and the game. "I want spicey. How about hot wings?"

"Sure you don't want roasted goat balls?" Mako asked with a chuckle. "Never seen you lay into someone like that before. Not that he didn't have it coming."

"The guy just pissed me off." Jim admitted. "I don't like when people upset my friends."

"Yeah, but I've never seen you so aggressive before. It's usually me. Jess must be a really good friend if you'd maim for her."

Jim just shrugged, already pulling up the number for their favorite wings place. "I'm getting a dozen hot wings. What d'you want?"

"Sesame ginger."

"Lightweight." Jim snickered before going through placing their order. They continued their gaming until the food arrived, taking a break to enjoy their small yet tasty feast. Game controller were replaced with sauce and smartphones, Jim attempting to chat with Melody over text while Mako caught up with social media.

"Damn, someone's the life of the party."

"Huh?"

"Jess has been postin' pics from the party she's at. Looks like she's havin' fun."

The snow leopard leaned over to see as Mako flipped through the most recent photos. Mostly selfies, they featured Jessica surrounded by various costumed friends, and most of them looked more ready for an anime convention than Halloween. Many of the pics showed her with Chip and a cute looking snow owl girl, but there were quite a few shots of her in the arms of a few good looking guys.

"Girl's got some game. Maybe she won't be home tonight after all."

"I'm sure they're just friends." Jim muttered, suppressing a growl as they came to a pic of Jess hugging a handsome wolf guy. "I don't think she's the type for one nighters."

"You think, or you hope?" Mako dared to ask, a cheeky grin on her face. "Don't want our girl gettin' lucky? Or maybe you just don't want her havin' fun without you?"

"What are you on about?" Jim scoffed, pecking the last bit of meat from a chicken bone. "She can do whatever she wants, if it makes her happy. It doesn't matter to me."

"That's good, cause she's all over this one lucky bloke."

Jim quickly leaned back over, only to find a pic of Jess and the snow owl dancing together. She shot the shark a scowl before grabbing a game controller, quickly delving back into the game world.

"Had you worried there for a sec, huh?" Mako teased. "Interestin', since you say you don't care."

"Well, she's my friend, of course I care." Jim quickly tried to backpedal. "I don't want anything bad to happen to her. You remember how she was the last time she got drunk."

"Pretty sure Jess can handle herself." Mako pressed. "She handles that cunt goat pretty well. An' I think she learned from last time. I'm more worried about you right now."

"I can handle my own."

"It's not that. It's just, you seem especially protective of the girl, like you care about her more than you let on."

"I'm not allowed to care about you guys?" Jim asked, scowling at the notion. "You're all like family to me."

"True enough. But I'm thinkin' the sheila's particularly special to ya. I see the way you smile around her. And she's pretty cute, too."

"I know what you're trying to do." Jim said with an annoyed glare. "I have a girlfriend, who I love. I'm not interested in anyone else."

"Sure, but she's a bit of a cunt, ain't she?"

"I think I have some work to do." Jim tossed the controller aside with a growl, not wanting to hear another word from the shark.

"Jim, wait!" Mako quickly chased after her, stopping the feline before she could disappear into her room. "Sorry mate. I just want you to be happy, y'know? I care about you, too, and Melody has been causing you nothing but grief lately. Why not just ditch her and be with someone who makes you happy?"

"It's... we're just going through a rough spot." Jim insisted. "It wasn't always bad. I'm sure we'll be fine again, once we're living together."

"If you're sure that's what you want." Mako gave the snow leopard a quick hug. "Just keep your happiness in mind, mate. No real reason to chain yourself down to one person yet."

"I'll be fine." Jim assured her. "We're generally happy. All couples have their arguments and rough patches. I'm not ready to give up just yet."

"Alright. Just remember I'm always here for ya, and want ya to be happy. Also, don't forget that Jess has a sexy ass."

"Yeah, she does. You should date her and get a piece of it." Jim remarked. "I've got one of my own, and that's plenty enough for me. Now I really am going to do some work."

"Aw, c'mon. I won't bug ya, I promise."

"Sure you will." Jim chuckled. "But I really should get some work done today. I've been lazy enough as it is."

"But it's a holiday?"

"Nice try. You just don't want to work either." Jim chuckled, managing to escape the shark's grasp. "No escaping your homework. We'll finish the game another time."

To her credit, Jim did try to get some work done. Afterall, there was plenty of homework to do, and always a test to study for. It wasn't long before her attention wandered though, often spending more time on the internet than her work. For a while, Melody held most of that attention, the two chatting casually over an instant messenger. Mako's words had struck a chord with the feline, though she refused to admit it, and she was hoping chatting with her girl would push those doubts from her mind.

"I really wish you were here, babe." Jim confessed. "I miss you."

"Miss you too, babe." Came the response. "I'd be there now if I didn't have work tomorrow."

"I understand. How about next weekend?"

"That might work. I'll let you know."

"I look forward to it. I miss having you around all the time."

The next response took a bit longer to come through, Jim watching as Melody repeatedly started typing, only to apparently erase her message several times. The snow leopard was starting to get nervous when Mel finally decided on a response. "I miss you too. Just a little while longer and we can be living together full time."

"Can't wait." Jim smiled softly, thinking about just how nice that would be. "Anywhere you have in mind?"

"I found a couple places nearby that have good rent. Some really cute places, too. Good enough for us to get started at least."

Jim's smile turned to a frown, her fingers tapping away. "I thought you said we could get a place halfway between you and the school? That'll be quite a commute for me to get to class every day."

"Sometimes sacrifices have to be made. I mean it's not THAT far."

"But still too far for you to visit regularly." Jim muttered but was smart enough to not type. Instead she went for a more diplomatic response. "Couldn't we at least look at places more manageable for both of us?"

There was another delay, with several attempts at a response made before one came through. "I guess I can look. Or maybe we could look together. But I'm keeping my eye on the places I already found just in case."

"As long as we get a place that has room for an art studio. I'd love my own space to work in."

"We'll see what we can manage."

"It's the only thing I'm asking for." Jim insisted. "Even if we just get a two bedroom and convert one into an office."

"We'll see." Melody repeated. "Look babe, I'd love to talk about it all night long with you, but I do have to get up early for work tomorrow. Love you! Talk to you soon! Night!"

"Night. Love you too." Jim sighed as the conversation came to an end. Conveniently timed to prevent her from arguing her case any further. "I didn't think I was asking for too much."

Having lost all motivation to work, Jim retreated to her bed, curling up to play the latest Pokemon installment as she tried to forget her troubles. She was soon fully invested, hunting for just to right traits and forgetting about the world around her. She was soon distracted that she nearly jumped out of her skin when a bout of singing suddenly rang through the dorm.

"This is Halloween! This is Halloween!" Jessica skipped into the bedroom, full of energy, and perhaps still a bit tipsy. She tossed her purse onto her desk then scampered up to Jim with a big grin. "I'm the one hiding under your bed. Teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red."

"Technically I'm the one who hides under your bed." Jim said as Jess flopped down beside her. "I take it you had a good time?"

"Hell yes. I hadn't seen some of those guys since graduation. It was so much fun to geek out with them again. And I got to see Holly again! She's my best friend, but her smart ass got into a fancy university. Oh well. So how was your night?"

"Not as exciting as yours." Jim admitted. "Played games. Almost did some work. Chatted with the girlfriend. Played more games. Y'know, the usual."

"Sounds like a typical night for you." Jessica giggled, leaning against Jim's shoulder to see the game. "Whatcha playin'?"

"Pokemon." Jim sniffed at the air before giving the fox a curious look. "How much did you have to drink?"

"I behaved myself." Jessica swore. "I just had a few of these light, fruity drinks, and I made sure to eat some food, too. I made sure to only get a little drunk."

"Just a little drunk, huh?" Jim asked. "Not so drunk that you'd do something you'd regret in the morning?"

"The night's still young." The vixen cooed, tracing a finger along Jim's arm. "Plenty of time to do something regrettable."

"Yeah... What?"

"Oh nothing. Just thinking of things." She hummed.

Jim swallowed hard, her mind momentarily going blank. The inebriated fox suddenly seemed closer, and softer, than she remembered. It took a bit for her to find her words, and to steer the conversation away from anything they might actually regret. "So, uh, how's your costume go over at the party?"

"Everybody loved it!" Jessica bounced back out of the bed, suddenly full of energy. "All my hard work and pricked fingers really paid off. Surprisingly popular with the guys."

"The guys?"

"Oh yeah, they all wanted to take my picture." The vixen grinned. "And for whatever reason they kept asking me to strike my transformation pose."

Without prompting, Jess suddenly started to spin, and Jim instantly saw why all the guys wanted her to do it. The hem of her skirt rose up as she spun, flashing her panties from all angles. She managed to get a few spins in before striking the final pose, fingers held in V for victory signs as she winked at Jim.

"Gee, I wonder why they wanted you to keep doing it." Jim flatlined, part of her wanting to chew out the guys at that party, while another part of her wanted to see it again for herself.

"Yeah, I have no idea." Jess muttered, her smirk revealing quite the contrary. "Oh well. As fun as it is to play a Sailor Scout I think I can only wear this stuff for so long. Even Sailor Venus needs to take a break every now and again."

She turned, and managed to get Jim's full attention as she let the orange skirt slip from her hips and to the ground. She bent over, mooning the feline as she slowly worked to take off her boots. Jim couldn't take her eyes off that sight despite herself, and while the panties weren't necessarily naught, the white fabric framing her ass enticingly. And Jim got to enjoy the view for quite a while, Jessica apparently taking her sweet time in removing her boots. Those round cheeks looked quite smackable, and the mound between her thighs was quite inviting indeed. Jim found herself chewing on her lower lip as she watched, blushing just a bit when Jess righted herself once more, glancing over her shoulder with a knowing smirk.

"See somethin' ya like?"

"I... sorry."

"Don't be. I don't mind the attention." Keep her back towards Jim, Jessica slowly unzipped the zipper along the back of her top. The fabric slowly slipped free of her shoulders, Jessica slowly removing the hand made garments and tossing it aside. Her hips slowly rocked from side to side as the vixen then removed her gloves, not turning back around until she was wearing only her panties, her arms crossed over her breasts to leave just a little something to the imagination. "Oh, I think Senpai noticed me."

"Hard not to." Jim admitted, trying to regain her composure and joke it off. "Is that usually how those Sailor girls transform? I really need to watch this show."

"We should watch it together." Jess let her arms fall away, dropping the sensual facade in favor of finding a comfortable shirt to wear. "Even trade for getting me to watch Cowboy Bebop."

"I thought you were enjoying Bebop." Jim said as Jessica returned to her side. "We're most of the way through it, don't tell me you don't like it now."

"No, I'm loving it. But I'm not gonna pass on a chance to watch more animes with you, Senpai. You do like spending time with me, right Senpai?"

"Of course I do. I couldn't think of a better roommate."

"Even better than Melody?"

"Um..."

Before Jim could properly respond, Jessica fell over, laying out in the snow leopard's lap. Jim was more surprised by the sudden move than anything else, not sure whether she should tell the fox to get off or just treat her like a warm blanket. Jessica quickly settled in, resting her head on Jim's soft tail as though she were about to take a nap, and Jim decided there was really no harm in it. As long as Melody didn't find it, anyway.

"I missed you at the party tonight." Jess admitted, softly snuggling the feline's tail. "I mean, I had a lot of fun and loved seeing everyone again. But I wanted to dance and party with you, too."

"I'm not really much of a party person." Jim admitted with a chuckle, already delving back into her game. "I usually hide in a corner, close to where ever the food is."

"Yeah, that sounds like you." Jess chuckled. "Still, woulda been fun to introduce you to some of my friends. Maybe have someone at least pretend to be my date."

"I dunno. I saw your pics from the party. Looked like there were quite a few guys would'be be happy to fill that spot."

"No, I fucked myself over with those guys years ago." Jessica sighed, her tail lazily flipping at her side. "I think I got myself a reputation for being undatable."

"What? That's ridiculous."

"I wish. But I ruined those chances with my stubborn idiocy. Sure, I used to get asked out in high school, once in awhile. Guys would want me to go to homecoming or whatever, genuinely nice guys, too. But I'd always so no, cause I stubbornly clung to the feeble hopes that I might actually someday get to go out with my... my crush. Now they've all moved on and have girlfriends, and everyone just assumes I don't want to date at all. Man, I really fucked things up."

"Hey' it's not that bad." Jim offered, slightly distracted with a tedious battle. "So, maybe you missed out on a couple guys from high school. But people don't think of you that way here. You can make a whole new reputation for yourself, if you really care about that sorta stuff."

"Yeah, and so far the only guy that wants to date me is fuckwad Francis." Jess grumbled. "Miss out on decent guys in high school, attract only assholes in college. Maybe it's me. Maybe I'm not that attractive. Am I attractive Jim?"

"Sure. You have a great smile, and a nice ass. What more could anyone ask for?"

"So, would you date me, Senpai?" Jess asked, curling up a bit and trying to look as cute as possible. "Is my ass good enough for you?"

"Sure. If I didn't have a girlfriend of course."

"Pesky details." Jess managed a smirk. "So, what exactly do you like about my ass? No one's ever complimented me on it before."

"Well, it looks nice and firm." Jim offered, her eyes glancing down to Jess's posterior. "It looks good for spanking, and would probably make a nice pillow."

"Looks firm?" Jess asked, wiggling her butt just a little. "Maybe you should give it a smack and confirm it for yourself."

"Well, I really shouldn't..."

"Oh c'mon, we're not having sex here." Jess insisted, lifting her tail out of the way. "It's not even a kiss. It's just a harmless little smack on the ass. No one has to know."

"Well... oh fuck it." Smirking despite herself, Jim raised her hand and gave Jess a quick, open handed swat to her rear end. The butt yielded wonderfully under her hand, filling her palm nicely as Jessica let out a gasp. "Yeah, that's a nice ass. You okay."

"Yeah." Jessica said with a slight shiver. "It's just, that's the first time anyone's ever really spanked me. I didn't expect it to feel so good. Maybe you should do it again, just to be sure."

"Are you getting greedy?" Jim snickered, her hand still gently rubbing Jessica's rear. "If I'm not careful I might create a monster."

"Please, Senpai?" Jess flashed her soft blue eyes at the snow leopard. "Just one more time? I'll be good, I promise."

Jim's heart nearly skipped a beat as the vixen's teasing pleads worked their magic. Her face flushed with heat, the feline momentarily speechless as she wrestled with her desire to ravage that ass, and her loyalty to Melody, who'd never begged so tantalizingly for her. Her internal debate led to inaction, pulling her hand off of Jess's ass as she tried to think of something to say.

Jess eventually let out a sigh, taking the lack of further spanking as a hint. She crawled out of Jim's lap, then out of the bed. "Well, I think all the partying is catching up to me. I'm gonna call it a night. Sleep well, Senpai."

"Yeah, g'night." Jim muttered as Jess climbed up into her bunk. She soon heard the sounds of the fox sleeping soundly, her tail lazily hanging over the edge of the bed. Jim let out her own sigh, sinking into her bed as she returned to her game. Despite what she may have said to Mako earlier, the fox was starting to get to her, slowly wearing down her defenses and filling her with temptation.

"This would be easier of Melody were around more often." Jim lamented, reasoning with herself. "It's all just a test. I can behave myself. No way am I going to cheat on Mel with Jess. That wouldn't be fair to either of them."

Jess tail twitched as a soft snore came from above, even that little bit bringing a soft smile to Jim's face as she thought about what was on the other end of that tail. Catching her thoughts wandering, Jim begrudgingly pulled her covering sheets down, blocking that tail and isolating her from the rest of the room. She needed a moment alone to properly clear her head of as many tempting thoughts as possible. It wasn't easy though, considering she could practically still feel Jessica's firm ass in her hand. "This is gonna be a long semester."
