Survival of the Fittest: Year One - Chapter 7: Exodus
The Evans twins have a heart-to-heart with their new Master en route to her airship.
Cool night air washed over Lavender's naked flesh as her arms crossed over her chest to shield her stiffening nipples from the sudden breeze. At her side, Nicole pressed against the Espeon's arm, her warm, black-furred cleavage squishing into her sister's bicep. For the first time in over a week, the twins stood beneath the oily blackness of the open night sky, the fresh scent of blooming flowers tickling at their nostrils. Ahead of them, Allie Stafford hooked one leg behind her back, fingers fumbling with a strap around her ankle as she stripped away her high heels and offered freedom to her stocking-covered feet. The human girl looked back, noticing the pair of Pokemorphs frozen just beyond the awning leading from the facility's lavish lobby, and clacked her shoes' heels together sharply, cocking her head and directing the twins to follow her lead.
Together, the Evans sisters followed their new owner along the smooth concrete pathway. Lavender the pair, bare fur bristling in the nocturnal chill as her body responded to the caress of the elements. Her pulse quickened as her mind recalled the societal shame associated with such outdoor nudity, and one arm crossed over her chest, her breast nestling into the crook of her elbow while her paw cupped the opposite nipple. Nicole gripped her sister's free hand, trying desperately to keep pace with the hastier Espeon, her pudgy body jiggling every step of the way. The Umbreon's modesty matched her sister's, though her heftier bosom and harried footsteps made it more difficult to maintain, with flashes of soft pink blinking past her attempts at concealment.
Their journey continued for a good ten minutes as the facility's lights drifted faded into the night and the pristine walkway cracked and gave way to a rough dirt road. This transition paused the trio once more as Allie unabashedly hiked up her dress and peeled the dust-stained stockings down her porcelain thighs. Black toenails wriggles against the darkened earth as the human girl balled her nylons up and stuffed them into the toes of her discarded shoes. Spinning around, she marched backward, addressing her latest purchases and continuing to lead them further into the unknown.
“You guys are really quiet."
“Yeah, so?" Lavender spoke for the twins, glancing briefly back at Nicole, “what do you expect us to say? It's pitch black, I'm cold because, you know, we're fucking naked out here, and I have no idea where exactly I'm being led by the human girl who just bought us. Bought us. Let a pair of kittens fresh from the pound. So please, 'Master,' please tell me what I might say to entertain you on our wonderful voyage."
“Wow. They said you were kind of a bitch, but I thought 'No, they're just saying that. She looks too much like a marshmallow peep to be nasty.' Needless to say, you've proven me wrong."
“Yeah if you want me to be really bitchy, why don't you take this collar off and we'll have a nice chat."
“I don't think I'm gonna do that," Allie replied, stepping carefully over a root growing from the edge of the path, “but thanks for the offer. Now in regards to your earlier snark, I believe there was a question of where I'm taking you. You see, I'm not from here. We humans have a magical machine called an airship that-"
“I got it. You don't need to be a smartass."
“Sorry," the human chuckled, “it's just that the moon is like, lighting up your face and you look so pissed off right now that it's fucking hilarious."
Lavender growled.
“Easy there, Purple. I'm just fuckin' with ya. Like I said, we're going to hopefully find my dad's airship. It should be parked up ahead somewhere, but that would require our staff to get shit done in a timely and competent fashion, which, spoilers…never expect that. The landing pads are all the way out here because we can't just park next to the facility. What's if there's a jailbreak or something? Believe it or not, some Pokemorphs are smart enough to escape."
Another growl.
“See, that face! That face you're making right now! You're trying so hard to look tough, but you're just too adorable to make it work."
Another growl bleeding into a hiss.
“Aw, don't be like that," Allie giggled, a slight bounce in her step as she spun back and focused on the path ahead of her, “look, I get that this sucks for you. Believe me, I completely understand how shitty all of this has been and will likely continue to be in the immediate future. But I'm trying here. I'm trying to make this a little less terrible."
“How?" Lavender snapped, darting forward and seizing her by the shoulder, digging her claws into the human's pale skin, “how the fuck is any of this-"
The Espeon spasmed, electricity coursing through her as she writhed on the ground, hissing and spitting. Nicole dropped to her knees at her sister's side, recoiling as a steadying paw on Lavender's shoulder transferred a strong shock right down her arm. Looming over them both, Allie breathed heavily, one hand wrapped around a familiar remote control with her thumb hammering at the red button. As blood began to ooze from the newly-torn flesh of her shoulder, she hurriedly affixed the strap of her dress over the wound, allowing the red fabric to slightly discolor as it absorbed the mess. Allie's nostrils flared, her nose letting out a long hiss as her trembling hand released the button and ceased Lavender's punishment.
“Shit," she grunted, rotating her sore arm as further crimson stained the dress' fabric, “why the fuck did you have to do that?"
Lavender's leg twitched on the ground despite itself, her sister's trembling fingertips brushing over the static-puffed fur of her cheek. She groaned and managed to roll over, pushing herself up to her hands and knees until she could sit upright, legs folded beneath her firm ass. Nicole rested a paw on her sister's back, lightly stroking her coat in soft, concentric circles and patting down the bristled fur. A flash of red caught Lavender eye and she looked up to find Allie kneeling before her, rotating her arm as the crimson stain on her dress expanded. The human held out her uninjured hand and Lavender snarled, baring her teeth and hissing to little response.
“Cut that shit out," Allie sighed, wincing as she rolled her shoulder, “that was your own damn fault. What the fuck were you thinking, clawing the shit outta my arm? Look. I'm sorry for the whole shock collar thing, but you fucking started that. That is not on me."
“Fuck off, bitch," Lavender growled through gritted teeth, “it was worth it to finally bleed one of you fuckers."
“Finally? Oh, so you mean the long period of time before now when I collected you from the holding room and you willingly followed me…that was just you biding you time before unveiling your master plan? 'cause that takes some skill. Also…fuckers? You're fucking lucky I'm nice and I like you, believe it or not. There were a lot of worse outcomes for you from that auction."
“I'm supposed to thank you for that? For being nice and buying me off the auction block?"
“No no no. I'm just pointing out that you could do a lot worse than me. I mean, there were buyers at that auction would would've loved to have picked you up for cheap. You're good training fodder for stronger Pokemorphs to sink their teeth into. Or you could've been sent to a ranch to pump out Eevee eggs for the rest of your life. Or you could've gotten stuck with my father, who is gonna pissed that I spent nearly half a million on a pair of twins with obvious physical defects. The glasses, before you get all pissy with me. But yeah, my father is not going to be happy to see you two, but it would've been worse if he'd chosen you himself."
“That's very comforting."
“Oh, you want comfort? You got more than you deserve, let's be real here. You, you were worth the money. There's a chance that investment might work out, 'cause you've got that edge to you even though you're about as intimidating as a stuffed animal. Her, though?"
“Wh-what about me?" Nicole mumbled, having avoided getting involved in the conversation as her palm continued its efforts to assuage her sister.
“Well…" Allie chewed on her words, trying to be diplomatic and failing miserably, “you're cannon fodder, sweetie. Bottom of your honors class, chubby, the glasses again, and no real bark or bite whatsoever. I bought you because I thought it'd be fucked up to split up a pair of twin sisters. I'm not that cruel."
Allie's proclamation hung in the air for a moment, light sniffling filling Lavender's ears as Nicole's body responded to the laser-focused highlighting of her flaws.
“Seriously, this crying shit…this is exactly what I'm talking about. This is not a game. You are not at home and there is no one coming to your rescue here. It's harsh, but it's a fact of life in this game. You gotta toughen up. Get some thicker skin. I wanna help both of you, I do. I wouldn't have wasted my time and money otherwise. But you've gotta meet me halfway here. I mean, fuck, your sister ruined my dress and she's not even all that strong."
Allie's words fell on deaf ears as they hardly classified as inspiring. Nicole bawled into her sister's shoulder blade, a mixture of tears and mucus mussing the lilac fur. Having recovered from her earlier punishment, Lavender leaned back and wrapped one arm around her twin, pulling the Umbreon into a warm embrace and allowing her to cry herself out into the Espeon's inviting cleavage. As Lavender combed her fingers through Nicole's thick, violet mane, she looked over the black-furred shoulder to glare into the eyes of her new master.
“Where the fuck do you get off," the Espeon growled, “saying shit like that to my little sister?"
“It's the truth, and you know it. It's blunt, sure…but tell me…was life in the kennels are soft and nice and happy for you? Or was it harsh? That's what you need to think about, because that's what you're in for. Life's gonna be harsh, and if either of you isn't at the top of your game…you're not gonna make it. You're her sister. You wanna protect her? You get her ready to fight. Period. Now get your ass up and let's get to the ship already."
Allie rose to her feet, sighing as she waited for her charges to follow suit and wincing as she swiveled her arm once more. Glaring down at Lavender, the human girl tapped her foot impatiently while the Espeon coaxed her sister from the ground. Putting an arm around the Umbreon, Lavender guided her sister's muzzle up from her chest to her shoulder, allowing Nicole to continue the flow of tears and stammering sobs. The trio continued moving at a noticeably slower pace, hampered by Nicole's stubborn sorrow, but eventually bare feet hit asphalt, the pathway leading onto a landing pad populated by half a dozen gargantuan airships.
The idling monstrosities deafened the group as winds from the collective engines whipped against Allie's dress and the Evans twins' bare fur, forcing them to bolt across the tarmac en route to their destination. Sheltering beneath the metal fuselage of an idling ship, Allie approached the uniformed man guarding an extended staircase. The man's unkempt appearance hardly matched his spotless suit, a windswept mane and five o'clock shadow highlighting his leathery face and gaunt cheeks.
“Harry," she yelled over the roar of the turbines, “you're on time for once!"
“That I am, Miss Stafford! Only two this year?"
“Yeah! Slim pickings! How many onboard already?"
“Five, plus your two makes seven! Still need to collect your father and brother though!"
“Five? Well, I got more someone at least!"
“Indeed! Are you injured? What happened to your arm?"
“Later! Let's get inside before I blow out my voice box!"
“Right away!"
Harry stepped aside, ushering his employer's daughter up the stairs and focusing his attention on the Pokemorphs awaiting entry nearby. He offered no kindness similar to that which he'd reserved for Allie, merely cocking his head and boxing the girls in once they began their looming climb into the Stafford family airship. Lavender drew Nicole closer, absorbing her sister's warmth as she looked upon the hatchway all too reminiscent of their earlier imprisonment. The sisters slowed in their ascent, only to receive a set of sharp smacks across their bare backsides, inducing yelps and urging the girls to pick up the pace. Growling inwardly, Lavender hurried along, pulling her sister onboard the ship as Harry clamped the door shut behind them.
The dim glow of neon lighting lined the ship's inner corridors, and Harry abandoned the trio as he scuttled off to attend to his other duties, leaving Allie to deal with her new purchases. Guiding the twins through the vessel, she hesitated briefly, pressing a button on the wall to unveil a plush, pink bedroom affixed with a large mahogany dresser and a matching vanity desk. Allie casually tossed her discarded heels onto the bed with a soft, thumping bounce before sealing the room shut and moving deeper into the bowels of the craft.
Somewhere far from the group, idling engines roared to life, sending powerful vibrations through the ship's hull and shaking its inhabitants as they attempted to maintain their footing. Resting one hand against the wall for support, Allie pushed forward, motioning the girls through a series of doorways and down a stepladder into the airship's hold. They passed several workers who offered Allie a compulsory nod while ignoring the new additions to the crew, though several idle hands found themselves pinching at the girls' exposed fur and smirking at the subsequent yipping response.
Finally, after the long journey from their cell to the holding area to the auditorium to the secondary holding area to the ship and into the hold, Allie stopped outside a metal door indistinguishable from the countless others they had passed along the route. A pair of weary guards wielded batons at either side of the doorway, stone faces making a show of revealing their holstered pistols to Lavender and Nicole. Allie rolled her eyes out of their line of sight and moved in front of a panel protruding from the wall, blocking it from the sisters' vision as she typed in a series of numbers to the tune of a pleasant ding. A large green light flashed over the door and the human grasped the handle, shoving it open with a metallic hiss.
“Here's your stop," she said, turning to Nicole and gesturing inside, “you first."
Nicole's eyes shifted from the human to her sister, Lavender's head subtly shaking from side to side as she glanced through the open portal and saw several Pokemorphs turning to inspect the new arrivals. The Espeon's motion did not go unnoticed however, as Allie quickly stepped between the twins with her back to the lesser threat. Her palm fumbled back, pressing against Nicole's stomach and lightly shoving her away as she obstructed the sisters' connection. Though the Umbreon offered a slight, defiant yelp, she offered little substantive resistance and soon passed into the next room, leaving human and Espeon in each other's company.
“Alright, I'm fucking going," Lavender groused, attempting to push past the human.
“Hold on," Allie responded, inserting her slender frame into the doorway in a manner that inspired frantic expressions from the guards, attempting to watch the room over her shoulder “you and me need to have a quick chat. Alone."
“I have nothing to say to you, or any of rest of these cocksuckers for that matter. Let-"
“Your sister's fine. She's right there. She'll be fine for like, two minutes. We need to hash some shit out now though."
“Like what? What do you want?"
“Look, I meant what I said earlier. You need to stop defending her so much. You don't know what this world is like yet, and I get that…but it's better you learn now than when it's too late. You've got a chance…you do. And maybe she does too, maybe you both do. But if you have to stand up hold her hand every second of every day…then neither one of you will survive. I want to help you. I like you, or else I wouldn't have wasted my time on the two of you at the auction when there were better options on the table. But you've gotta meet me halfway here."
“What the fuck are you even talking about? Help me? All you people have done is electrocute me. Is abuse me. Humiliate me. Treat me like a fucking animal. And you want to help me? Fuck you, bitch."
“You just…you just don't get it. You don't. Things can get so much worse for you. So much worse. And if you want to bite the hand that feeds you? Fine, fuck off then, go it alone. Have fun with that."
“I will. I don't need your help."
“Whatever. You wanna be tough, go ahead. Daddy'll break that out of you in a week, believe that."
“He sounds really scary, sending you to do his bidding."
“Don't say I didn't warn you. When you've had enough of him, you come find me again. Maybe if you kiss my ass enough then, we can work together. I just hope you don't wait too long. Oh, and not like you care, but I won't tell dad about the arm. That wouldn't go well for either of us. You're welcome."
“Gee thanks."
“Yeah yeah, you don't care. I got that the first time," Allie stepped aside, offering the Espeon unfettered access to the room beyond, “go on. Get in."
Lavender crossed the threshold, smirking at the human's exasperated expression as she stormed off and her guard lackeys sealed the door. She quickly located her sister, balled up on one of many steel bunks bolted to the walls, and joined the Umbreon, lightly stroking her back. Slowly, her gaze drifted around the room, fixating on the shadowed faces of her fellow captives as she assessed her surroundings. Dipping her head beside Nicole's ear, she whispered a soft reassurance.
“I'm getting us out of her, Nikki. Even if it kills me."
