Chapter 83: We Will Change The World (Embracing Demons Part VIII)

Day 186 (2:24 PM The eating place within the lost city.)

“Alex dear can I get you anything else?" Dianna Wild asked.

“No thank you." I said staring down at the table I was seated at. “Tauren... Lurie... Lea…."

“He has been like this all afternoon momma." Little Corey said. “It is like he has been crushed by a thousand boulders; I am worried."

“There you are big brother!" A little mongoose boy along with a yeti trailing behind him said bounding into the dining hall.

“Something wrong?" Yogi asked approaching.

“Afternoon boys he has been like this since walking in." The she centaur said.

“That is because the care clinic in World One did not go so well." Corbin said. “There was no one to treat."

“Actually there was more to it than that." The young yeti said as Dianna, little Corey met his eyes. “He was talking with the Commander and Lady Barq for quite a long time this morning. Just like Zhade has with Ruth Ann."

“Zhade is probably trying to get out of his shift in the garden. Corey and I are heading out there to check up on him, Ruth Ann and Kenna. See if you two can cheer him up. Mia and Lolly should be here soon if you need anything." Dianna said as she walked out, her son following.

“I hope you feel better Alex." Little Corey called out to me.

“Hey can we join you?" Yogi asked.

“If you want." I said covering my eyes as I started sobbing.

“Do you want to talk about it?" Corbin asked hugging me.

Not to be left out the young yeti also got in on the group hug. He was quite large for a manufactured toy.

“So why are you crying?" Yogi asked.

“I lost some very old and very good friends of mine. They were some of the first friends I made when I arrived on this world."

“Arrived on this world?" Yogi asked.

“Yeah, Alex is not from around here. It is a long story. Did they die big brother?"

Twenty two hours earlier….

Day 185 (5:43 PM Diamond City Medical bathroom for non-Others)

“Mr. Winter can you hear me?" Claudius asked.

“So what is this development? Wait, how is it that you are communicating with me?"

“That is the development, I found a way to send and receive limited messages over your observation device and extend the range. How are your faring boy?"

“I am fine, I ran across some dear old friends the entity acquired the day of the fall. They are showing me around trying to prove to me why it is great to be an Other."

“They are trying to convince you to come back into the fold?"

“Yes Claudius." I whispered.

“Is it working?"

I was silent. Claudius took it as his cue to move on.

Have you tried to escape?"

“I thought about it, but they are everywhere- the minute I attempt to leave, I will be surrounded."

“So you are their prisoner then?"

“Something like that. I just hoped that I drew enough attention away from my mistress so that she can locate Ida."

“Yeah about that… she is not having much *zyt* *zyt* luck."

“You're fading in and out Claudius."

“Damn, the micro probe must be overloading. Ursa is having a hard time finding my beloved. You will have to get that information and relay it back to me so I can give it to her."

“And how am I supposed to do that?"

*zygt* *zygt*

“You are a smart and resourceful fellow figure it out."

“And how do I notify you?"

“I have you under surveillance. I will be watching and listening. Oh, and that thing you were looking at in the museum I would advise not going there and looking at that again. While you were out cold they tried to turn you- repeatedly." Claudius said ending the transmission.

(Thanks for the advice.)

The amphibian cut it close because the micro probe started smoking. I had to wave it around a few times before re-attaching it to my shirt.

*“Squirt are you ok? You have been in there quite a long time." *

“Yeah, Lurie- it must have been something I ate, I will be right out."

“But you only had the nourishment at the bistro."

“Maybe it was something I had for breakfast?" I asked as Lea returned with a pad in her hand.

The lioness looked at the 'yote girl and 'yote girl nodded.

“What's going on?"

“While you were under we took the opportunity to run some tests." The sexy she beast began.

“You mean like my second day on Counter Earth?"

“Yes." The two females said in unison.

“What did you find out Lea?" I asked hoping that this time around she hadn't taken a semen sample.

“You have changed somewhat over the last three years. You still possess your clairvoyant ability. You are still shy and introverted, but your intelligence level has improved to moderate. Additionally your healing ability is not really a healing ability; you can only remove your target's symptoms for a time. Which means they can return."

“Interesting." Luire said looking at me.

“But there is something more." I determined.

“We think we know how you were able to free yourself from our master." Lea added.

“Shere determination and will power?" I smirked.

“No it is that slight deviation the tests detected on you three years ago. It has something to do with the fact that you are not from our reality but an alternate one. Could it be that the master never had complete control of him?" The sexy lioness said to me.

(It was gorgeous, but I will never tell.)

Now…

“Lea despite being great to look at and a bit ditzy is a fantastic researcher and healer." I said to Corbin and Yogi who were listening intently to my recollection.

“So the lioness had discovered the truth?" The little mongoose boy asked.

“Yeah Corbin but, I was never going to let the 'awakened' females know."

“Did you try to escape then?" Yogi asked transfixed.

“That wasn't possible. The walkers are networked somehow, so they are in constant communication with each other, even over great distances. If I had made a run for it I would have been cornered and returned to my hosts or even locked up."

“So you were playing the long game with them." The little mongoose said.

“Exactly."

“I have a question Alex." The yeti asked me.

“What's that Yogi?" I asked wiping my tears.

“Of the two lioness that you know Lea and Shakara who are you attracted to more? I mean who is prettier?"

“Um…." I replied continuing my recollection.

21 hours ago….

“Perhaps, but the most likely explanation was that he didn't give his captivity a chance." The female coyote said.

“We concur." Lea said as I walked out of medical.

“Like I had any say in the matter. I was a slave. I did what I was told to do under threat of punishment which I often received anyway."

“In correct Alex, you selectively followed commands and constantly challenged authority." The coyote girl said following me out of the lab.

“In the former empire you were obedient, submissive and docile; you supported the regime right up to the last day." Lea added.

“So what you two are saying is that if I had adopted your stance my captivity would have been a better experience?"

(That was so much crap.) I thought to myself as I came to a fork in the hallway. I chose to turn right.

“Was it all bad little human?" Lea asked.

“Well apart from the go here, do this I did… I did like making Others."

“And the rewards you received afterwards?" Lurie said following.

“Yes."

“And the between?"

“I did like the between reaching out to everyONE in the collective when I could. Say where are we, what is this? A school?"

“This area is used for instruction." Lea said to me as I came upon a class in session.

This was not your traditional class. It was a converted lab with many glass windows for those in the hallway to look in. In the center of the room were two adolescent bisons sitting on the floor side by side eyes closed and their legs crossed. They were surrounded by six students- a kangaroo, two humans, an antelope, a rabbit and an ape. They like their instructors had their eyes closed like it was some type of meditation session.

On the far wall of the room was a large banner that read 'So You Are ONE, With ONE, Now What?'

“Bess? Tess?" I said out loud. “What is this?"

“An orientation for the newly awakened." Lea said to me.

“Yes, those two felt that there was a need in the collective for this." Lurie added. “They are having a particularly intense session this evening."

“But all they are doing is meditating!"

“No, they are sharing their collective knowledge. The ape over there is terrified of the voices he is now hearing in his head." The sexy lioness said to me. “The kangaroo is unnerved that she no longer has control of her own body, the antelope is wondering why he has lost his appetite and the rabbit is perplexed as to why he can experience thirty orgasms all at the same time. The bisons are helping them through all this starting with acceptance."

The poor ape seemed to be scared out of his gourd, he was nervous and shaking.

“Good old Bess and Tess always trying to help." I said watching my former consortium colleagues.

“We best leave them be." Lurie said grabbing my left hand.

Lea did the same to my right hand and the two females led me away from the seminar.

“Hey! Where are we going?"

“It has been a long time since we have been together." Lea said to me.

“Since it will be your decision whether you come back to us, we are going to show you a little more than what you experienced last time." The 'yote girl said bringing me to her quarters.

I was expecting to see a multilevel townhouse like what she had in Castle Wundagore. Instead I found what appeared to be a storage closet and a multi-layer platform in the middle where Tauren, Eon, her and Lurie would be off-lined when the synoptic did not need them.

“This place is not as nice as your last Lurie." I commented. “No sectional, view screen or bed."

“We have what we need squirt, our master provides the rest." The 'yote girl said fumbling through a storage case at the far wall.

“Where are Tauren and Eon?" I asked as the leonine female joined her.

“They are on assignment." Lea said as she and Lurie disrobed.

(OH WOW!)

I looked at them catching a sneak peak of their nude bodies before turning away to give them privacy.

“Um how long was I out cold?"

“Several hours." The coyote girl said putting on a white shirt and black shorts. Lea was in a yellow shirt and blue shorts.

Now…

“So Lea, Tauren, Lurie and Eon lived together?" The yeti boy asked.

“Yeah vessels of the entity are organized into subgroups called pods. When I was with ONE I was in a pod with two orcs and two sharks."

“And the entity can just turn its subjects on and off at a whim?" Yogi asked.

“Yeah just like a, um a toy, sometimes for hours or days or even weeks. I was surprised to discover that Lea was living with Tauren and Lurie. Perhaps they begged the synoptic to cohabitate."

“That is just so weird." Yogi concluded.

“So Lurie and Lea took you for a night out?" Corbin asked.

“Yeah they realized that the past three months soured me horribly about being an Other. They were determined to make up for it by showing me the time of my life." I said to the yeti and mongoose boy.

20 hours ago….

“So where should we start?" The lioness asked the coyote as we walked out of their 'lair' to yet another wing.

This one was full of activities I saw walkers wrestling, swimming, sparing, running, playing games like ring toss, darts and archery. They all seemed to be having a good time. I was impressed. Even more so when we arrived at our destination.

“You are taking me to a dance club?" I said looking at a long hallway that was punctuated by a neon floor, pictures and strobing lights.

“Yes." The sexy lioness said.

“It has been a few years squirt." Lurie said taking my hand. Lea took my other hand and we made our way inside.

There was a large circular platform with pulsating lights gyrating music not unlike the dance club contest Tauren, Sorren, Lurie and I attended so many years ago. Unlike that time I didn't have to hide the fact that I was a nonbeastial.

“Ready?" Lea asked me.

I was shell shocked as I studied the crowd they looked like normal beastials, humans and various creatures going on about their lives oblivious to what was happening outside the Diamond City.

“Are you really that surprised?" The 'yote girl asked me. “We do like to have fun from time to time."

With that I joined the coyote and lioness on stage with the rest of the walkers.

“EveryONE having a good time out there?! Of course you are!! Hail the synoptic!" The MC a rather happy lemur shouted.

“HAIL THE SYNOPTIC!!" The crowd around me shouted as I danced and gyrated my body. I hadn't felt like that in a long time. Witnessing the end of the known civilization will do that to a guy.

“We would like to extend a special greeting to those who are visiting us for the first time. Rest assured we know you will be back!!!"

I and my female guides must have danced for about sixty minutes straight. Until I was out of breath.

“Lurie, Lea!"

“Break time." The two picked me up and escorted me from the dance floor. We made our way to a side hallway where there were these 10 x 10 glass studios. About four right in a row. The first three were empty. The last was occupied by the wallaby couple from earlier.

“What is this?" I asked.

“Karaoke." Lea responded.

“It looks like some visitors are having a great time." The 'yote girl commented watching the male sing to the female.

“Yeah he is really belting it out to his girl." I said watching as well.

“Is it wrong for me to not want half? I want all of you, all the strings attached.. Oh, I'm good at keeping' my distance, I know that you're the feeling' I'm missing… You know that I hate to admit it but everything means nothing if I can't have you!"

“This is a really good song Claire!" The male said to the female.

“Strange that it is the only song available Ted." The female said to the male. “No, here is another- You Belong To Me? Such an interesting title."

Lea and Lurie pulled me passed the karaoke booths into a small intimate venue; there was a elevated stage surrounded by what looked to be about fifty seats. On that stage was a fossa singing out her heart to the crowd.

“Ida?" I asked as we sat down to listen.

“No this is Charlotte. She was a menial hub employee before the master awakened a latent ability she did not know she had." The sexy lioness next to me said.

“She sings like an angel doesn't she squirt?"

I looked at the feline in the sparkling tan dress that looked more like it was wearing her than the other way around, the stage and then the audience.

“Lea, Lurie can we go?" I asked my guides.

“Something wrong little human?"

“Yeah. This reminds me of that Sura concert we attended that night in World Two."

“Yes we recall that evening the rabbit entertainer and her band were nearly killed during her performance." The lioness said to the coyote.

“Yes by some of the technical crew." The coyote said to the lioness.

“Yeah, that was the night we first heard of a ONE and that it was coming."

“Well it came." Lurie said. “And we are all the better for it."

I looked at her and walked out of the small auditorium.

“Ok so you don't feel much like a concert squirt- it reminds you of the old days."

“Too much of the old days. Just like Charlotte reminded me of Ida."

“You mean that fossa you turned during the fall of the Grand Kingdom?" The sexy lioness asked me.

“Yes, her. I wonder how she is doing?"

“Better." Came the collected answer.

“She used to work at the hub and when I met her, she was a healer in that colony."

“And now she works with the young." Lurie said.

“The young?"

“...On the last day the High Evolutionary visited his favorite castle." An adolescent oryx who was dressed in costume as the High Evolutionary said beginning the narration. “He was preparing to judge the condemned on what would be his last official act..."

“He approached the holding cell area accompanied by its guard and his lover." A boar said continuing the story. “A lone prisoner of the empire was presented to be judged and punished. The prisoner pleaded clemency, for understanding. He pointed out that he did not agree with some recent decisions the high master had made. But his pleas fell on deaf ears. The dictator told the prisoner my empire my rules. As he was about to announce judgement, the guard's lover intervened."

“Did she plead for the condemned?" A familiar fossa asked.

“No." The boar responded.

“Did she free the condemned?" The fossa asked.

“No." The oryx responded.

“Then what?" Ida asked.

“She thrust her arm through his chest, grabbing his heart." The wild pig said mimicking Lurie from seven months ago.

“The present leader is a nuisance and not required in the new order. The coyote said to the dying leader."

“You shall not win! He muttered."

“We already have! The coyote said mashing his still beating heart underneath her paw!" The boar exclaimed.

“At that moment The High Evolutionary, the master of all Counter Earth died and his empire with him; the new order had begun." The oryx announced triumphantly.

“Hail the synoptic!"

“Hail the synoptic!"

“As you can see Alex, Ida is in charge of the performing arts." Lea said proudly.

“She and her charges are practicing a reenactment of the High Evolutionary's last moments alive what do you think squirt you were there, is this accurate?" Lurie asked smirking.

I looked at the small stage and the boar who was playing Lurie, a binturong who was playing Tauren, a mousedeer who was playing myself and the oryx who was portraying the High Evolutionary playing dead on the stage. My constitution crashed and I felt sick to my stomach.

“BATHROOM NOW!" I shouted.

Those present in the theater room pointed me toward the door. I ran at top speed down the hall receiving a stark reminder of the hive mind present here; a scorpion man indicated where I should turn next. A lizard beastial pointed to the right. A green and grey female naga pointed to the left and finally a skull faced metallic gargoyle pointed to a door straight ahead the visitor's lavatory which I made it to just in time.

*BLARFF!!*

“Looks like it is mostly stomach acid." Lea said patting me on my back as I emptied the contents of my stomach into the receptacle. “What happened Alex?"

“Isn't it obvious? The history lesson didn't agree with him." The female coyote said wiping my face with a cloth.

“That was the worst day of my life." I retched.

“That is a matter of perspective little human. Rest assured after you rejoin us this nasty little habit of imbibing nourishment will go away." Tauren's lover said as she finished cleaning me up.

I started to respond to that comment but received a claw-tip to my lips.

“Before you say anything else we have more we want to show you." The sexy lioness responded.

Now…

“So what was it that the sirens wanted to show you boy?" A silverback gorilla asked at a nearby table.

“Ananias when did you get here?" Yogi asked.

“I have been here for awhile forced to listen that walker's story. Now answer the question."

“Yup, way to serious." Corbin responded.

“It was a circus." I replied.

“Are you telling me this Diamond City not only had an amusement park, wilderness environments, museums, art galleries, stores, shops, hotels and restaurants but a circus as well?!" The little mongoose asked.

“Yes. Lea, Lurie, Tauren and Eon made a very compelling case to rejoin the collective."

16 hours ago….

“A circus?" I asked as we rounded yet another wing. “This is truly a place of wonder."

Lurie, Lea and I took a seat near the door and watched the performances- there was a tightrope act high off the floor, a trapeze act, jugglers, fire eaters, bubble blowers, plate spinners and even performing animals all in synch with each other.

I stayed for about sixty three minutes before growing bored.

“Can we go?"

“You want to leave? So soon?" Lea asked.

“This is boring."

“How so?" The lioness asked.

Every creature here is linked with each other; there is no single mind- so in reality all we are watching is a synchronized dance."

“He speaks the truth." The 'yote girl responded.

“Where to next?"

“How about we go and visit the forest?" Lurie said licking her chops.

“Actually, isn't getting kind of late?" I interjected.

“Yes, but that is not the reason you are hesitant squirt."

“Alex is not fond of the forest- bad things have happened to him there." The sexy lioness said.

“Very well the beach it is." The yote girl concluded.

And so I returned to the first wing of the biosphere I had toured with Lady Ursa, you know the one with the boutique storefronts with the numerous wilderness locations. Lurie entered another wilderness environment consisting of large stone rocks reaching toward the sky as far as the eye can see. They guided me around the structures past a small waterfall where I observed a secluded beach overlooking the ocean. Two sets of grey blankets were laying on the sand side by side.

The three of us sat down on them several hours after dusk set in.

“This sounds so peaceful and relaxing." I said listening to the waves crash onto the beach. “Lurie will Tauren and Eon be joining us?"

I watched as the she coyote reached out to her lovers.

“No they are still working. It looks like it is just us."

(But it is 10:30 at night!)

“So what do you think Alex?" The sexy lioness said lying down next to me.

“This place is wondrous I would say even better than what preceded it."

“It is a bit snug. Wait."

I watched as the she beast stepped out of the clothing she was wearing tossing them aside as if they were a bother.

(WOW.)

“Your turn."

I watched as Lurie did the same tossing her shirt and shorts on top Lea's.

“Your turn little human." Lurie said to me.

The beastial females watched as I removed the orange v-neck and tan pants Tauren had given me earlier. Like the females, I was in my undergarments.

That was when the coyote looked at the lioness and the lioness looked back at the coyote as they communicated something between them. Lurie reached for my undershirt, while Lea my underwear.

*yoink!*

“Hey!" I protested.

“Not to worry little human." Lea said removing what was left on her body. Lurie soon followed.

All three of us were nude on the beach.

“There much more comfortable and the weather and temperature are perfect. Alex stretch out and relax." The coyote female ordered as I felt a lioness sit on my legs just below my butt.

“Space was tight on the blankets, but we can share." My former healer said rubbing my back.

“It is so tranquil out here." I muttered as the 'yote girl on the blanket next to me started trembling. “Lurie are you ok? What's wrong?"

“She is having a shimmer!" Lea announced gleefully. “Share it, Lurie, share it!"

“OAH…. AH….!!!" The females moaned in unison. “AHHHH!!!! YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!"

(That didn't sound like a shimmer. My shimmers never sounded like that.)

“That was the best one yet!" Lurie announced.

“That was simply beyond words." Lea said.

“What was it about?"

“During reconstruction she found some young rabbits hiding in the woods. They had been living in a tree for the last four months and were scared of us." Lea said recounting the encounter.

“We comforted them and brought them into the fold. Their awakening was near orgasmic." Lurie said to me. “Are your shimmers as pleasurable?"

“No, just inconvenient." I said returning my gaze to the ocean ignoring a the nude females around me.

“What you see is ours Alex, All of it. The culmination of our master's plan." Lea said continuing the massage.

“It will take some time but the rest of the cities will look like this too." The coyote said resting her head on her arms.

Lea suddenly stopped the massage climbing on top of me, her rack touching my back.

“So Lea are you seeing any beast?"

“No."

*“She is married to her work. Not like there is any shortage of males. In fact you would be a nice candidate for her..." *

I didn't hear anything further as I drifted off to sleep underneath the tan lioness with the petite breasts that were resting on my back and whose groin was riding my butt.

Day 186 (5:52 AM Diamond City Beach Environment.)

I awoke to gentle kisses on my neck.

“Shakara that is amazing!" I mumbled.

“Shakara?" Lea asked me.

“A another dear friend of mine. You remind me a lot of her."

“She resides in your colony- yes?" The lioness asked hugging me.

I didn't answer knowing that she was pumping me for info.

“How do you feel squirt?" Lurie asked turning her attention to me.

“You two were up all night 'talking' weren't you?" I asked the naked females.

“And you were resting peacefully. So that concludes our tour sorry if we ran a little over."

“Um trust me, I don't mind." I said as Lea stood up. I immediately jumped up hugging her and then Lurie.

“So you have made your decision and decided to rejoin us?"

“Not exactly. I love you two dearly. You are all my oldest and closest friends."

“But…" Lurie said crossing her arms and looking down at me.

The price of admission is just too high Lurie.

Now….

“So the coyote and lioness did not take your rejection so well boy?" Ananias asked.

“Would you?" Corbin asked. “They showed their friend their world not to mention a REALLY good time on a beach and he still rejected them."

“I wish I was there!" Yogi sighed.

“It went downhill from after that, Lurie and I argued all the way back to her lair."

7 hours ago...

“What do you mean the price of admission is too high?" The yote girl said as we moved through the biosphere.

“Don't get me wrong Lurie- this place is wondrous and amazing but look at what you are giving up- your body, your mind and your soul! Let me ask you this- when was the last time you did something you truly wanted to do that was not part of the entity's agenda?"

“We went dancing with Tauren and Eon two nights ago."

“But that was only after receiving approval from the master right?"

“Be aware of what you are giving up Alex. This place is a melting pot beastials, humans and those not quite either."

“ONE has keep its promise." Lea said interceding. “It has carved order out of chaos, made that which is wrong- right, united that which was not, created unity where there was none, established equality from where there was inequality, constructed peace from where there was confusion, constituted contentment from where there was none."

“Yes Lea and all it cost was your free will, oh and the lives that were crushed to bring all of this into existence. ONE, NEO, the synoptic, the entity, the conquer of worlds will take care of you for the rest of your life for a price...."

“Isn't that what we all want deep down inside- to be taken care of?" My former healer asked.

“Lian wanted to take care of you Lea. He perished before he could do so."

“Lian…." The she beast said thinking about her last boyfriend.

“So what you are saying is that your life now is much better than what we have?" Lurie said becoming confrontational.

Judging by her tone and demeanor, becoming ONE's vessel had changed her.

“We live in a comfortable biosphere while you are hiding in the forest Alex. We have eradicated hatred and cruelty. Your kind not so much. Wealth and poverty have been eliminated- you can't make that claim. There is no pain, misery or suffering of any kind here boy what about where you live?"

“Ok, okay I can't make the same claim- but my will is my own." I said as we arrived back at the lair.

“Alex come back to us." Lea pleaded.

“Lurie, Lea I love you but, I cherish my freedom, my individuality that would die in a place like this no matter how wondrous."

“Very well little slave, if that is your answer." The entity said speaking through its vessels. “But we have one last thing to show you."

I followed Lurie and Lea into their lair. Inside I found Tauren, Eon and Ida standing guard over a recent capture of theirs. A female ursine who had been bound, gagged kneeling on the platform they shared.

“Mistress!"

Our second mission in as many days had also ended in failure."
