The beginning of the story is written the way it is because when i first posted it i claimed it was "an emotional story about the first time asgore finds asriel as a flower." it was an average day in the underground.

(old) broderick and asriel find something interesting at the ruins, but events from the past resurface to cause problems. broderick also works toward keeping a promise he made to asriel in the past as well.

Once it was clear from asriel the spikes deployed. you set it off to the side healing the wound a bit. you proceed to clean, sow, and bandage asriel up the rest of the way. you go over to your bed and wave toriel over.

asriel was killed by an angry mob, so he couldn't have gotten far. unless chara's hometown was at the foot of mt. ebott or right next to the barrier, he wouldn't have made it back. that being said, the barrier was one way.
