Chapter Ten: Arrivals and Departures, Part Two

From the Battle at the Mesa, finally one group of nanobots collected and formed a body again. As it walked into the observatory, it looked at the professor, the malformed nanobeast looking down at the crushed hard drive. Looking at the crushed metal plate, he read the words scrambled and knew he had to find some way to get the data, glue the disk back together.

And looking at the top he smiled, he found something that was amazing. Reading the top of the label, he looked down and saw the top of it.

“HHD, Hybrid Hard Drive, checkmate." The nanobot beast smiled as he grabbed the top of the disk and looked at the top corner and saw the intact section.

Suddenly the Finn's eyes opened, his ears were berated with an alarm, and red lights forcing themselves past his eyelids. For a second he stood still and then his eyes opened, this was an alarm. Something was happening and this something was happening now. Quickly he jumped to life, throwing his chair behind him.

He was in the front of the birthing ward, a blanket fell on the floor and Finn's eyes peered around. Was this war? Were the nanobots invading, still the poor children on the floor must have been screaming their ears out. And then he heard it, the sound of something zooming by, also touching him but not touching him as if deeper into the fabric of the universe.

“No, that's not good, Iren!" Finn turned his back and ran back towards the large flapping doors. Running forward he nearly knocked himself off them as they stayed shut. Peering through the glass, Finn's eyes widened as he saw Iren's door as the only one open. As the alarms blasted in his ear, Finn wasted no time and engulfed his hand in electricity pushing it forward and knocking the door back in one go.

As he passed into the ward, Finn heard the sound of children crying around him, a lot of children crying. It pushed him, he didn't like hearing that, he didn't want to hear that and it only made him think of the worse. And then heard the sound of Iren groaning and screaming in pain, Finn knew the worst had happened and ran forward running into the blue painted room of Iren.

“Oh god what happened here, what did they do?" Did they take all of them, are you ok?" Finn yelled out in rapid succession as he looked around, Iren had a black and blue mark forming on her face. Looking forward and around the room, Finn started to breath faster and faster, his senses became more and more pronounced as he felt everything around him.

Every atom bouncing off his body and every single molecule entering his lungs. He felt his chest pumping at a million hours a mile, as it struggled to provide enough oxygen to his blood. Finn looked forward and walked up to the cradle and looked down, it was empty, only a tiny compression mark left.

“He took him, it was something, I don't know I couldn't see him, he came and went in a flash. And he punched me." Iren leaned against the bed as she removed the IV from her arm and stood up, she struggled on her feet and looked out of the window. She knew it and Finn knew their child was targeted.

“They took him and you did nothing! Do you even know who took him, I need details, I need all details, I need something!" Finn yelled as he berated Iren, his breathing speeding up and his teeth showing as he looked at her. Looking at her, a tear fell out of her eyes and she nearly fell to the floor.

“I'm sorry but he just came in a flash, almost in a portal. He just jumped in and then he flashed out, punching me, I would have done something but I was in my bed, the sheets were too tight." Iren apologized as she balanced herself and walked over to the edge of the room, she hit the lights in the room and breathed for a second.

“You're useless, I can't trust you to do anything can I?" Finn screamed out at Iren as she turned back to him, with tears in his face.

“Listen yelling won't do anything but little Tidus was targeted because of who he was, someone knew that we were having the baby and someone attacked him because of that. Because of his powers, because of what he could be, and if they punched me I hate to think what they could be doing to him, so instead of yelling at me go out and find him!" Iren yelled back and then Finn realized what a massive load of horse ass he was being. Both of them took a breath and then Finn realized that Isaac was at the door.

“Ok, I'm sorry." Finn apologized as he wiped the tears of Iren's face and then turned towards Isaac both of them started to walk forward, as the gravity shark brought out his computer and held it in his hands. He started to type and the two of them walked into an elevator.

“Ok, Finn I think I might know who did this but you need to be calm, I understand you are desperate and this isn't a laughing situation but this is something where you are going to need a clear head. So just breath and accept that it happened, take a few breaths until we get down until to the first floor." Isaac told Finn, as the two of them stepped into an elevator, the security team ran out of the other elevator as the doors closed. Isaac pressed the bottom floor button and started to type again.

“I was out in the parking lot and I saw it for just a second, a little flash of black light before it disappeared. Now it isn't much to go on but using the security cameras around the hospital I can build a render of that moment and hopefully find out who the flash was." Isaac started to type on his computer as he hacked into the hospital system, typing into the command bar, he hit enter and then a loading screen appeared on his computer.

“Give it a few seconds, just breath, I know you're not okay but you need to remember if this is a nanobot then you need to remember these are cruel and ruthless, we may be dealing with a no-win outcome, forbid they took him just for his powers. But that is cold and I don't think anyone would sink that low." Isaac looked over to Finn and saw how warn and red Finn's face was, he was still distraught as if someone had stolen his baby, which made sense.

“Ok, I can be level headed and if we get him back then I destroy the nanobots, if they kill him, I will rip their limps apart one by one and make sure they feel every single second of what pain they had inflicted on me." Finn breathed out of his nose, his breathing increasing as he walked forward. Isaac watched as his breaths almost steamed mid-air.

“Ok you are not level headed, let's just focus on getting your child back, let's just get little Tidus back. Barry and Ross are getting out and searching the city, you just need to breath for a while." Isaac tried to calm Finn down as the two of them walked out of the elevator and looking down, Isaac could see just by how much Finn was pounding the floor, how pissed off he was.

“Like I said, tear them limb by limb and if I have to destroy them with an atomic bomb for the sins they have committed." Finn walked forward and then out of the sliding door, Isaac looked back only wondering what the hell the perception filter turned that into. Walking out, Isaac's now beat up red convertible stood in front of the hospital door.

Isaac walked to the trunk of the car and placed the computer down as he waited for it to complete. It was nearly done and then image formed, quickly a three-dimensional scan of the location appeared. And looking at it, Isaac looked shocked as he watched the image.

“That can't be right." Isaac zoomed into the image and focused it on the person, it was a dragon. Not like Ross, and there were two portals, Finn walked over and pushing Isaac out of the way looked down at the image, he saw his child in the dragon's arm, the little shark wrapped in a blanket. And then looking at the face, he knew that face, he saw that face before.

“That's Zonate, a Kagen stole my child. We will make him pay, and we will make his brothers feel the pain that I feel. List the Kagens as enemies of the Outsiders, if they want a war then they will get a war." Finn looked around and wondered if Zonate was still around. “Come out Zonate, and fight me like a man! Or are you and your idiotic brothers finally losing it because I will make sure you all feel the pain!"

“Shut it, we have no idea. For all we know the nanobots could have taken him over, we have no idea. There is far too much we don't know to start assume things about this situation when we get proper information then we can advance on giving out punishment until then let's call Bright, see what he says." Isaac pushed Finn away from the computer and shut it, pulling out his phone and speed dialing the number two.

The phone rang and Isaac purposely kept it away from speaker, he did not need Finn to mess up the peace treaty. That needed to be the last thing to happen, and as much as Finn would have liked it now, Isaac knew if he caused war Finn would regret it for his life. Breathing as the phone rang, Isaac breathed a breath of relief when Bright picked up.

“Hello, we have a bit of a problem. We think Zonate might have gone rouge, and done things. We don't want to worry you or get you involved but when was the last time that anyone saw Zonate?" Isaac asked on the phone as Finn nearly charged like a bull. The gravity shark could fell that Finn wanted to pick up the phone and call Bright all sorts of colorful names but that wasn't going to help.

“Yeah that's strange I can't feel his energy and the last time I saw him was when he was over the Riftwalker camp, shit did he attack them. If he did then tell the Riftwalkers we align with them against him and he can be punished." Bright groaned as on the other side of the phone he put his hand on his head. Isaac looked over to Finn, who still was hearing this.

“Hey Listen, you little shit you better tell me where Zonate took my child or else you and all the Kagens will find yourselves burning in hell where you belong!" Finn yelled, frightening an old lady as she passed by in the hospital doors. Finn raised his finger against the phone and nearly spat so much onto it, that he sorted out the wires.

“Excuse, my boyfriend but he is currently dealing with something. Zonate stole Finn and Iren's child, long story but we have proof of it in the form of multiple camera shots and a 3-D scan of the time frame but either way, we need you to keep this a secret and try to find him. If any other Kagens go missing then we need you to tell us." Isaac explained and before Finn could grab the phone out of his hand and deliver the ham buffet, Isaac shut down the call.

“Finn I understand you are hurting but acting irrational is what is going to cause a war so then I swear, act a little more level headed or else I will find new ways to torture you so painful because I am trying to help and not be an asshole." Isaac started to say as Finn looked on him with a sour face.

“What are you trying to help the Kagens as well, are you one of their agents as well." Finn smugly said and then Isaac, smiled as he wacked Finn across the face, the smack breaking the supersonic layer and nearly knocking the shark back on the ground. Isaac smiled smugly as he looked up at the shark, who looked like he discovered he didn't have immortality.

“Now then I am supposed to be the smug one, so calm down, tuck your balls in and act a little rational, get in the car. It doesn't look like he can teleport very far with his portals but maybe just maybe we can catch up to him if we can find him with traffic cams." Isaac walked towards the passenger seat and buckled, in Finn held onto his slap for a few seconds before quietly walking over to the driver's seat and starting the car.

“Now then can you act civilized or will I have to slap you again?" Isaac asked calmly as he started to enter the police data base, as he loaded up a custom plug-in. Finn drove out of the hospital lot and onto a road, looking up at the camera he wondered if this was the way he was going to save his child. He needed Tidus, he needed to see that face again.

“Fine then, but I need to see him again. I need to see his face again, he means as much to me as you do, and they took you I would do the same. I just need him, everything is pushing me towards him and his cute little face." Finn stopped at the stop light and watched for the red light. As it stayed green he drove on through and continued down the road, in the rush of the mid-morning.

“Ok, now then using this plug in I can use the scan from before and cross reference it with nearly all security cameras in the city, if I do this right then he will be found at any point he isn't in a portal." Isaac typed on his computer and then as the transmission went out, the entire database of the city was put to work, as the code entered.

The enter work load of the city service center was broken up and put on pause as instead new code entered. Entire sets of photos from people's phones and their selfies, security camera and even traffic lights were all sent into the large multi-core processors of the servers and all of it was focused on matching at least one image with the scan of Zonate.

The scan was broken up, and a skeleton lined up with the image. The Kagen could be bent anyway, and his entire set of possible positions and possible locations were cross referenced with the system. As the entire work load of the processors worked through, Isaac watched as completed scans came through.

“Ok, good his last location was three minutes ago two blocks up!" Isaac excitedly yelled as Finn turned through the stop light and accelerated through. Cars hit their breaks and their owners hit their horns as Finn turned left through the road.

Isaac looked forward, they were in the city jungle, large skyscrapers on the edge of the desert. This was it, there were no other leads. Everything else was him coming through, this was as far as he got, in the previous ten minutes, his path had been recorded but as they approached the street corner and parked, this was his last known location.

Finn exited the car and looked around, he didn't know what to look for, he wanted to hear crying. Just something to tick him off to his child's location, he walked onto the sidewalk and breathed slowly and surely as he stared into the sky and then on the sidewalk. If they were going to look, if they were going to do everything they could then they would.

“Shutdown the city, find a way to raise a field to prevent anyone to get out. I don't care what we have to do, and get Ross and Barry over here." Finn commanded, sternness in his voice as he looked at Isaac who was typing on his computer. He seemed to be processing some code, some kind of last ditch effort.

“I cannot shutdown the city and a forcefield isn't even possible because this isn't New York. Secondly that could kill people on exit from the city, thirdly Barry and Ross will be here as soon as possible, so just calm down. Everything that can be legally done, to find your soon is being done." Isaac tried to calm Finn down, he had the feeling if they didn't have some sort of progress done quickly then Finn's mental condition would go downhill quickly. And then Isaac felt his phone ring, grabbing it he saw it was Bright.

“This is Bright don't do anything overtly stupid while I am distracted." Isaac pulled the phone up to his head and then turned away from Finn hoping that the shark wouldn't scream into it again. But then again, Finn seemed to be passing from that stage and into the one of action. Finn wanted to do everything possible to get his child back.

Finn looked out, if Zonate was teleporting this way, then he could have exited the city so quickly. No cameras would have been on him; he could be half way to New York for all Finn knew. Walking forward towards the desert, Finn hoped for one last hope, one last sign that something happened and something he could be pulled towards.

“Really twenty Kagens, this has to be the work of nanobots." Isaac commented to the phone as he started to type into his computer, he looked back and saw Finn aimlessly wandering towards the desert. “Ok, Bright, I have to hurry up because Finn is being a pain in my side, if you feel their energies tell me, because then I can do something about it."

“Finn, you need to stay focused on this. You need to stay at least focused on one idea or else you're going to just wander around aimlessly." Isaac yelled as he folded up his computer and then walked forward, stuffing his phone back into his pocket. Poor Finn everyone would think, and poor Isaac who might not have the sanity to deal with it.

“Wait a second, the nanobots would want to avoid cameras, but if they took him for his powers then they would want to keep him at least with in the city, but out of camera range. Isaac, I have an idea and it involves cross referencing the possible viewing pathways of the camera that border the city. Then use his teleport path he was taking." Finn explained as he looked over to Isaac who looked pretty impressed.

“That might be a good idea." Isaac opened back his laptop and floating it in his hands, opened a program, using google maps and cross referencing using the dunes around the city as distance, modifiers then he could find the range and overlap of the cameras that bordered the city. He loaded up the programs and started it as a map of Carson City around them loaded.

Finn walked back with a smile on his face as he looked as the program loaded multiple images of the security cameras' images, and using the dunes in the background decided how much of a range they had. All in the background, the location of security cameras appeared on the map and a cone appeared from them.

Finn watched and Isaac looked in amazement as the entire map sorted itself out and then it appeared that one location was without monitoring. A line from the hospital, showing the portals and the locations of Zonate teleporting through the city appeared, Finn watching as it all lead up to a circular mound on the dune in front of them.

Isaac smiled and Finn ran back to the car, jumping in and starting it as Isaac closed his laptop and sat down as well. Pushing through the morning traffic, Finn turned and drove straight past the final road of Carson City, up the sidewalk and out onto the sand, a dust cloud behind them forming as he pushed through in the desert.

Isaac was a little less than happy when he realized the amount of sand hitting his undercarriage and scratching off the paint was. Looking forward at the patched hole in the hood and the energy strike burn as well as the multiple points of peeled paint on the side, he knew this was just normal wear and tear at this point.

“Let's do this, if we have to we fight for the death, make sure Ross and Barry know where to go as well." Finn commanded, sounding victorious as he drove up the dune and saw Isaac texting on his phone. And then looking back, at the city, he was going to bring his child back. “Good let's do this, and then hitting the top of the dune, they hit a perception filter.

It broke and suddenly there was a building, Finn hit the brakes and wearing them down as he turned the car and impressively parked the car next to the building, pulling in as a perfect parallel park. Isaac looked over, as the metallic side of the building blocked him.

“My poor, poor car." Isaac watched as Finn jumped out and then the shark simply, used his powers to float himself over. Finn took a breath and held his fingers forward, activing his power banks he was going to go in and kick some ass, he was going to make them regret their actions and as he opened his door, electricity nearly pouring from his hands, he looked around.

“There's no one here." Finn looked forward and saw the entire building was empty as can be, no one around, just a flat one floor building. He breathed for a second and put his guard down his child was lost. He couldn't do anything about it, Tidus was gone for now until he appeared again.

“Oh I'm sorry Finn, we did the best we can, but the nation will know of your plight and Zonate is banned from the camp know, if he returns we'll know and if he shows up on security cameras we'll know but for now we did the best we could to find him." Isaac looked at Finn and he had that face, the face of pure sadness and depression, Isaac felt horrible for him, after all he had promised and after all they went through, nine months of hell it was all over.

“Yes, Finn, the nation will know your plight, because you will be dead and the war will start, the Kagens will win." Suddenly another perception filter broke, and like that, twenty Kagens more or less all appeared in short succession all around Finn and Isaac, Finn's face turned from depression to anger but he saw everyone and knew he was surrounded.

“Shame it is, but if this all goes well the timeline will change and all will change from this moment. You will be dead and your little resistance over, the Kagens will have won the war and this Earth will be burned." Zonate walked forward, nearly stumbling against a wall as the rest of the illusion broke.

A ceiling appeared above them and a few more walls appeared, and then a second room, it seemingly had a large circular device. Isaac peered back at it and wondered what it was. He couldn't see it, he just needed to see it and figure out what it was and it what way it was damming them. Finn raised his hands and then suddenly a Kagen speed forward, slapping on his wrists two large cylinders, Finn's hands were dragged down.

“What did you do to me!" Finn screamed out as suddenly his body glowed, the scars of old appearing and pain appearing on his face as he was reminded of himself, he was becoming who he needed to be, a nobody, a nobody in Zonate's book, in his plan. And the Kagen smiled as Isaac's wrist received the same treatment.

“Power blocking cuffs." Isaac looked as he looked forward at Zonate and wondered where the man got them from. He tried to use his powers but felt the power surge back through his body, all of it, he felt his body nearly collapse like a black hole.

“You bitch, shit, motherfucker, tit beast, tell me where my child is and you might find mercy from me!" Finn spit out as Zonate walked forward, the other Kagens walking back towards the circular device. It, was almost like some sort of strange place, the place appearing to be the means of an end, the place of most suffering.

“You can't win, this will change everything, you have already lost sixteen years ago, I will raise your child to be a warrior and I will time travel. Gather enough Kagens and sacrifice their lives, a temporal void is opened up." Zonate explained as he walked back and looked at the Kagens, ready to give themselves up for his cause.

“And how are they controlling you, how are they doing this to you? Of course the nanobots I mean, how have they done this and sort of goal does this lead to?" The shark smiled as he realized he was matched; he couldn't do anything. He was matched, by Zonate. Best to at least figure out some information at best.

“Well wouldn't you like to know, if you should. It was simple, the nanobots have been freed. And we have found the best way to end this world, with a war, we no longer serve a master and now, we work for ourselves. While these pitiful beasts cannot be assimilated into us, half of their brains can be destroyed while we control the other half and motor it." Zonate explained as he spoke almost like a hive mind, he walked away from the two Outsiders and turned back to his sacrifice, this could only be done once.

“Now then Outsiders, resistance is futile, we will make this world into our own image and you will be nothing but a painful memory in my heart." Zonate delightfully savored that moment as he walked to his left and a door opened, Finn stood still and the child was brought out, little Tidus holding his raddle, Finn walked forward and Zonate held the child.

“Please Outsider, I wouldn't be so mean as to prevent you from saying goodbye to your child. You have one minute with him." Zonate put him on a table and raised a forcefield between him and Finn. Finn walked forward and put his hand on the forcefield he looked through and like that he could see the child. He saw his cute little face and his cheeks, so plump, he looked immaculate on the table, nothing could ruin this moment.

Finn needed to say something and he needed to make sure the child knew everything so he was going to tell the truth.

“I wish I could tell you that you'll be loved, that you'll be safe, and cared for, and protected, but this isn't the time for lies. What you are going to be, Tidus is very, very brave." Finn leaned against the forcefield and his baby looked at him, he smiled and looked down at the child. “There is a bad, bad man taking you to be raised as a weapon against me, but we will be coming for you and we will find you, in the past or in the future."

“Ah how nice, but now Kagen men and women it is time for you to sacrifice yourself to the cause, we have feared this man and now it is the day we will destroy him and his army from the past!" Zonate gave the rousing speech to his men, as the Kagens put both hands over on their chest. “When you are ready."

And then the Kagens blasted out energy, in a flash of light they all moved back and the glow of regeneration appeared. Zonate watched and then at his snap, they all blasted again, the circle of Kagens fell to the ground and he watched as a twenty blue lines crossed the floor and the combined, the circular structure glowed and then a spinning vortex rose from the floor and Zonate picked up the shark child.

A glowing portal appeared and like that, Finn felt sick and wheezy as the two times connected and in the background thunder stuck. It was from the portal; it was back sixteen years ago on a stormy night. Zonate smiled as he turned around and started to walk forward, Finn looked around he needed something and then he decided.

As Zonate walked towards the past, the sound of rain hitting sand on the other side, Finn smashed his hands on the wall. The metal cuffs broke open at the joint and like that Finn was free. This was his chance, he needed to do it and he needed to get his child back. Putting his hands forwards, he blasted the wall making the forcefield fall.

Finn ran forward, with blood in his eyes as he jumped on the table and jumped for Zonate. This was his change, he flew towards the dragon and then the Kagen nanobot realized what was happening, and like that the child flew out of his hand and flew forward. Finn watched as his baby flew right through the portal and into the past.

His heart broke and he felt his entire will fall from him, everything was useless, he had nothing now. And like that Zonate turned around, kicking him and knocking him back. Finn watched as his child, disappeared between the layers of the portal and like that he hit the table it was all over. Finn froze up and he knew this was all for nothing, he had nothing left.

And on that stormy night sixteen or fifteen years ago, a single burst of light splat out from the universe during that dark and stormy night, a glowing vortex of white and gold shining out in the desert, surely anyone with a good eye and a go-get-em attitude could have went and explored it. Sadly no one like that came instead the only hope for the universe was with in this wolf.

The darkness obscured his skin but as he walked towards the portal, climbing over dunes in the radioactive desert. He looked at the portal and knew that it was something important, maybe it was his lucky day. Maybe it wasn't who knew. He climbed through the sand and looked at the child.

It was a tiny baby warped in a blanket, holding a red raddle, looking at it the wolf wondered why a baby would have been in a portal. Looking up at it, he couldn't see through it but there was yelling and chaos on the other side. He wondered maybe this child was from the future, and maybe there his plan had succeeded, if it did maybe then he could cheat a bit with help from time.

Looking at the child, he grabbed a device from his hand, dusting the sand off the child as all the chaos happened on the other side. He picked the child's finger and his machine shot up in celebration as it glowed. This was child was the first; he was the source from the well. Surely the wolf's future self would have sent back the child as the gift he needed to advance the future.

But then the portal started to shift again, this wasn't his future self-coming through he could feel the power from this person and knew they would surely be angry if he kidnapped the child, possibly come after him and destroy him. Quickly he decided that the sample with in his device was more than enough of a sample.

And with that the wolf ran off in the night with the portal behind him, he needed to keep the blood sample he had alright before anyone with a right mind decided to destroy it. He held it carefully in his hand, sample it had to be off at least planned Generation Two technology and if he could reverse engineer this then he maybe could start with Generation Zero.

He found his car and looked off at the city in front of him. The wolf wasted no time getting in to his car and placing the blood sample in a clean and preserving insulated lunch bag. If he could hurry up the sample might survive and surely then he would be able to survive.

And driving off towards Carson City he laughed knowing that his plan had been completed. He would be the Owl of the night that the city, no the world needed to continue on. He would change the world and it would appear to be no one to thank but him.

But behind him, over a dune and a few hundred yards of desert the portal closed and a dragon stepped out spreading his wings. He reached down and took a breath as he looked behind him and saw that the portal was closed, they couldn't follow after him, and he knew he didn't want to deal with that horrid mother again.

He looked at the shark baby in his hand, maybe it was a little extreme, maybe it was out of bounds but he needed this child to survive, if anyone could change the future it would be him. Taking a breath, he looked at the child and placed him back in the carriage that he had, maybe he could remake the carriage and sell it, maybe completing a loop in time.

But he pushed that off, he was here to change time not to make it loop around again. The child in his arms was the most important child in all the history of children to exist in the history of children. He would train him and he would make sure that his electrical powers were harnessed and trained properly.

“Well won't you just make the finest little Riftwalker destroyer." The dragon said smiling as he walked off towards the city. The shark sparked and the dragon stood back as he looked at the city, all he would have to do is stay back for a few years and then reappear.

And then something happened, as Zonate walked forward, his wings in the wind suddenly as the portal closed completely, the energy from it had to go somewhere. And then like that the portal blasted forward, putting the energy spent on it, back into the universe but hitting the Kagen Dragon, the carriage fell into the desert and like that, he fell to the ground.

His body burst into flames and even as rain fell on his body, Zonate's body burned, he felt his entire existence fail and like that, he collapsed. He couldn't regenerate, the nanobots would be pushed out. And like that the Kagen general got his head back as he exploded into a bolt of fire, flames rising into the sky and nanobots blasting into nothing but liquid as they blasted out of his ear.

“Oh god, what happened." Zonate looked around and realized all that the nanobots had done while they had his body. He couldn't go back; he was stuck in the past. He looked down at the child, he wondered, raising the child, well watching over and not getting involved. He knew the perfect name for the child.

“Well then Tidus it looks like we're going to have to train you and finish the loop, because all of this has happened and it will happen again." Zonate grabbed the carriage and walked off towards the city, he wondered if this was supposed to always happen, if it always would happen. A time loop so perfect it created itself.

Finn sat down in front of Iren and she looked at him, they were again in the hospital this time in a different room, as Iren got a cold press for her face. She looked down at him, Finn felt horrible, it had all happened so quick, the timeline never changed, he couldn't see anything different, then again he didn't know what to look for.

“I'm sorry Iren, Zonate took him into the past, he could be anywhere now. Who knows what happened to him." Finn apologized as he looked up to the tiger, she looked like she was ready to kill him and with the way she was going for her IV, she might have decided to poke his eye out.

“Oh before you kill anyone, maybe I can explain." And then they both looked as Tidus opened the door and walked in. He sat down and then it hit Finn, and then it went away. But then it came back. Tidus had something in his cargo pants, he looked at it and back at the shark.

“No, Son?" Finn asked as he stood up and looked at the shark, the plump cheeks and the adorable smile were the same. Finn wasted no time hugging the shark and he felt it, the same joy when he was holding his son a few hours ago. It all came back to him, he could fell it Tidus was his son, Tidus was Tidus, he escaped from Zonate.

“Yes, dad. I couldn't tell you but when he came out Zonate regenerated and became good again, he told me of what would happen and why I couldn't tell you, I knew the whole time." Tidus smiled and he looked truly happy, someone who had finally came out and told a secret he had been holding his whole life.

“Ok, Finn you seem to have a good idea of what the fuck is going on. So please could you tell me what is in your rat's brain?" Iren yelled from the bed as she held the cold press to her face, she looked over to Tidus.

“Well you shouldn't curse around your son like that, but if you didn't get it. Tidus is baby Tidus, he looped around. And you knew what would happen, you knew Erick and Michelle would die." Finn suddenly turned back towards his son and looked at him. “Why didn't you save them."

“The same reason I am alive; it is all a loop. Those events had to happen in such a way that I was sent back and that the nanobots I got from living in the present were sent back and given to Owlman who started the nanobot program as well as creating myself." Tidus admitted as he looked over. “I tried to comfort both of them, I tried to do my best to lessen it but I can't deviate to far from what I know happens."

“Wait back up what do you mean by creating yourself?" Iren suddenly looked at Tidus and glared, Finn looked over as well. “Do you mean to tell me you got us together."

“Well yes, I knew that Finn and Isaac happened so I pushed them together, but knowing my birthday, I knew that I kind of was reaching a point where the universe would fall apart if I didn't do anything. So I put a bit of knockout in your drinks and then I did something and let you two get together." Tidus looked down to the ground, the shame coming to his face and himself knowing the mortality.

“Well if you didn't the entire universe might have fallen apart and I might not have met one of the greatest shark so all is forgiven, son." Finn looked over to Tidus and hugged him, it might have been nine months of hell but it was worth it if he met Tidus.

“I know, and I have both of your powers, electricity control and the ability to make that electricity, from your powers mom, but I still have the feeling you don't believe me so I have one last bit of proof." Tidus walked over to Iren and reached into his cargo pants pocket, he reached in and pulled out a red raddle, tiny balls inside of it.

“I gave myself this, yesterday and I received this sixteen years ago and one day, also you forgot my birthday." Tidus showed Iren the raddle and she grabbed it, she looked at it and then looked back at Tidus, she wrapped her hands around him and kissed him on the cheek. “Also sorry for not getting you anything for mother day."

“All is forgiven; I think it might be better this way. Think of all the dippers we skipped and all the hissy fits and out of it we got a pretty awesome son we knew the whole time." Iren concluded as she wrapped her arms around Tidus and Finn hugged Tidus again, reunited truly with his parents after sixteen years apart.

“What the hell did you do?" Iren asked as Tidus opened the principal's office and stepped out, she was in Eight grade and just by rumor she heard what he had done. Tidus looked at her and then back at the other kids staring at him.

“They started it, they pushed my books out of my hands and I only pushed them back and threw the milk at his face after he punched me." Young Tidus said as he showed her the bruise on his face. Tidus looked sad and looked down at the ground and shuffled his feet. “He's suspending me but they're getting nothing."

“Oh like hell they are, don't worry I got this." Iren put her books down in best motherly fashion walked in adjusting her pink dress and opened the principal door. “What are you doing to the poor child, he was punched and I don't care if the kids have milk stuck up their buttholes, if they started it then they get punished as well."

Iren and Tidus looked at each other as they sat down at the bench both of them were going to be suspended. Until Finn spotted them, the shark walked in and placed his satchel down. He said nothing and opened the principal's door as he walked in and then five seconds later walked out.

“Ok why did you start by throwing milk at him?" Finn asked as he realized that a few events might have been misplaced. Tidus looked at the ground for a few second and then pouted before he looked back at Finn. “Just tell me."

“Fine I liked him and I wanted to get his attention." Tidus admitted and then Finn pulled himself back in the office, he popped back out and looked at the two of them. “Fine all is forgiven, but you will have plenty of time to get his attention normally in detention!"

Finn walked out and high-fived Tidus and looked down at Iren, she stood up and grabbed her books, adjusting her skirt.

“Now then it starts now and lasts until the end of the day so I'll pick you up but good luck, go get him tiger, and don't do anything I wouldn't." Finn walked away and grabbed his satchel. Him and Iren walked out of office, both of them sighing.

“Are you trying to tell him detention is better than acting normal?" Iren asked him as they walked out of the office and the door closed. Tidus still looked so happy and Finn couldn't say no to that face. “Seriously, he practically manipulates you."

“I fell responsible for him but also you cursed out the principal good for you, just fell lucky I apologized for you. If only ORION cared for him a bit more than we did, then we might get somewhere in life, but we need to look out for him, I think we're good parent substitutes." Finn walked forward, towards his next class, as they walked past the wall they saw a group of people standing outside, a black dragon with his wings open nearly caught their attention. Finn didn't know who the man was, but he felt a bit of proudness from the dragon and continued on in life.

He continued on, always watching over Tidus being the parents he didn't get to have. And eventually the family was reunited.
