It's supposed to feel good when things are getting better. Written 2017.
“I don't think I really want to do this."
“Sure you do, it'll be great. You don't even have to do anything; just lay there and pretend to be asleep. Easy cheesy."
“But I..."
“And how are you two doing today?" The nurse smiled as she walked into the hospital room and the raccoon gave her roommate a silencing glare. She walked around the room, straightening sheets and tidying up. “Well, Ms. Conifer, you have a visitor. He seems very eager to see you."
“I'm eager to see him, too."
“Well, I'll just close this curtain to give you two some privacy."
“Leave it open; I want the sunlight."
The nurse looked to the bear in the other bed, “Would you like me to close it halfway?"
Eletta looked at the raccoon's pleading eyes, then up at the nurse as she pulled the sheet up to her neck and closed her eyes, “No, it's okay. I'll just take a nap."
The nurse looked uncertainly between the two morphs, “Alright. Just push the call button if you change your mind." She opened the door and stepped out, “You can go in now, but keep your voices low, her roommate is sleeping."
The young man smiled and nodded as he slipped past her into the room and with a glance to the bear, headed straight for his raccoon, “Oh Connie, I'm so glad you're alright." He took her cheeks in his hands and kissed her lips.
“Mmm, I missed you, too."
“They wouldn't let me in, even after they said you were going to be alright, so I went to work to keep from going crazy in the waiting room. I'm so glad you're feeling better."
“I'm feeling good, but I could be better." She slid her paw down his body and stopped on his groin.
He gasped as she gently squeezed and looked down, then smiled at her, “When we get home, you can have all you want."
“But I don't want to wait; I want you now."
“Connie, we're in a hospital."
“So, heal me."
He glanced at the bear, “What about your roommate?"
The raccoon looked to the camera, barely hidden under the sheet on the other bed, then reached up and turned his face toward hers, “She could sleep through the end of the world. Paul, please."
He was obviously losing his resolve, “What if a nurse comes in?"
“Close the door. She said she was going to give us some privacy, let's use it."
He smiled and pulled away from her to close the door. As he came back, she threw off the sheet to expose her naked body and he stopped to admire her furry form. She grabbed the top of his pants and pulled him closer until she could reach with both paws and quickly opened them.
“You're definitely not feeling bad anymore."
“You better take my temperature to be sure." She shoved his pants and underwear past his hips and wrapped her paw around his penis, easily stroking it erect.
“Oh, your paw still feels good." He wrapped his hand around her furry breast and leaned over to kiss her lips.
She pushed his hand down her body and spread her legs, moaning into the kiss as he started rubbing her clit. She pulled him against her, gripping his shirt as she humped up against his fingers.
He grunted and broke the kiss as he fell against the bed, “You're going to make me make a mess on the floor, my crazy coon."
She pulled her leg up past him, “Then you better get up here, my sexy bald monkey."
“Connie, I didn't bring a condom."
She gritted her teeth and snarled, “I don't care; just fuck me now."
He looked to the sleeping bear, then crawled onto the hospital bed between her legs. She wrapped them around him and guided his erection into her, then pulled him down on top of her. He kissed her lips and passionately humped into her.
Eletta opened her eyes and watched. She had been worried that it would bring back memories of her attack, but instead, it seemed beautiful. For a moment, she imagined that the human was Jake and she was watching him making love to Janice, her rabbit college roommate and it made her happy.
Paul thrust into his raccoon girlfriend and groaned into their kiss as she pulled him closer with her feet. He broke the kiss, panting, and smiled down at her, “Feel better now?"
She stroked his cheek and smiled back, “A little, but I think I need more of your medicine."
“Then we better get you home, where we'll have more room."
“But we won't have an audience there."
“What?" He looked over to see the bear wide-awake and smiling at him and his face fell. He looked back to the raccoon, “You planned this."
“Mm-hmm and she's waiting for round two."
“Round two? Will be at home, alone." He pulled out of her and tried to get up, but she held him with her legs.
She stroked his cheek, “Aw, well, at least she can watch the video."
“Video?" He looked around and finally noticed the small camera beside the bear. “We agreed we wouldn't make videos." He slid off the bed and she let him go, but the door opened and he scrambled to pull his pants on as she tossed the sheet back over herself. He glared at the coon and quickly closed his pants as a tall rabbit came in followed by a scrawny man.
“Janice!" Eletta felt like she had just been caught watching porn of her best friends.
The rabbit hurried to her friend's bedside and hugged her gently, “I'm glad you're feeling better. You should be able to get out soon, right?"
Jake glanced nervously at the other couple as he passed
She looked at Jake and the other couple and down at the bed, “I don't know."
Janice rubbed her shoulder and sighed, “Well, are you making friends, at least?"
“Not really," she mumbled.
“Absolutely!" The raccoon answered for her, “When we get out of here, Eletta is going to come visit me and my sexy man here."
Another nurse came in with a tablet, “Brandice Conifer?"
“Yes." Connie shuffled herself up on the bed as Paul stepped out of the way.
“I have your release orders here. If you'll sign them, we can get started on getting you out of here."
“Finally! I can't wait to get this man home and fuck his brains out." she took the tablet and stylus from the nurse and signed everywhere he indicated.
Well," the nurse took the tablet and cleared his throat, “We'll try to get you two out of here as fast as possible, so you can be alone."
“What about Eletta?" Connie blurted out before the nurse could leave.
He hesitated to talk about another patient, but everyone in the room was looking at him. He walked over to the bear's bed, “I think you will be released tomorrow. The doctors probably want to have you do some exercises and keep you overnight to make sure everything is staying together."
“See, you'll be back in classes before you know it." Janice smiled at her friend as the nurse left.
The bear looked away, trying not to think about going back to campus and all the mistakes she made there.
Janice rubbed Eletta's belly, trying to make her feel better, but the bear caught her paw and held it still. She knew something was really wrong if she was turning down belly rubs.
Eletta took a breath and put on a smile, then turned to her friend, “How are things with you and Jake?"
Janice sighed, “Well, I'm still doing fine in my classes and Jake has rearranged his. We've made a couple trips down to the GMAL for training. I'll probably help him out for a while. He can take his time getting his degree while he works, but I still want to finish mine as soon as I can."
Eletta pulled her friend's paw up to her chest, “I mean you and Jake. Is he giving you enough sex?"
The rabbit smirked, “No, we agreed to wait until we finish at least one degree. Don't worry, you'll be out of here soon and you can get your own."
The bear's face fell and she looked down.
Janice leaned close, “What's wrong?"
Eletta fought back tears, “One of the doctors said there was so much damage that I'll probably never be able to enjoy sex like I used to … or even have children."
“Oh bear," She leaned down and hugged her friend, trying to think of what to say to comfort her. She pulled back to smile weakly at her, “Well … You said you never wanted to have kids, anyway."
The tears flowed as she sobbed, “But it was my choice; and they took that away!"
“I'm sorry." She hugged her again and held her as she cried. “I'm sorry."
“I don't care if the lawyers want to blame the drugs and alcohol, they should all be burned alive for doing that."
“Connie," Paul put his hands on the upset coon morph and gave an apologetic smile that only Jake noticed.
She pushed his hands away. “No, you don't do that kind of thing when you're drunk unless you're already thinking it."
“You've never been drunk."
“And I never will be. I told you what my uncle Cort did. He said he didn't remember it and would never do it, but he did. He fucking did and he enjoyed every second of it!"
“It's different in a group. When you're drunk, you're not thinking about if it's a good idea, you just go along with it."
She grabbed his shirt and snarled fiercely, “If you're going to tell me that you did something like that, I'll rip your dick off and shove it up your nose!"
He grabbed her arms and looked terrified at her and the rest of their audience, “N-no. No, nothing like that. We just … climbed a sign and flashed some Guard."
The room was silent for a terrifyingly long moment, then a laugh erupted from the raccoon. She pulled the frightened and confused man down and clung to his shoulders as she laughed and the other half of the room stared in silence. “So, you got in trouble for showing off the goods?
She slipped her paw down his pants to grab his balls and he took the chance to break free and step away looking very embarrassed and a little scared.
“Oh, come on."
“Miss Conifer," a kangaroo came in pushing a wheelchair, “let's get you down to finish those forms, so you can go home."
“Sounds like a great idea." She flung off the sheet and sat up on the edge of the bed.
“Please put your gown on first. It's hospital policy for the public areas."
She smirked then looked to Paul, “Hey, sexy balls, it's in the corner and my things are in the cabinet behind you."
He hesitated a moment, then gave her the gown and got her things.
After she put it on, the roo helped her into the chair, “We'll take the elevator down to outbound and you can change in the room."
They rolled for the door and the coon leaned back, “Hey Eletta, call me. I want that video. Don't have too much fun with it. Where's my monkey?"
Paul hung back until they were out the door, then looked to the other half of the room. “I'm sorry." He looked like he wanted to say more, but left instead.
Janice watched the door close behind him, then looked to the bear below her as she remembered something from their first visit. “Eletta. Why did you keep saying you were sorry after you were attacked? What happened?"
Eletta was suddenly flooded with all the thoughts she had tried to contain. She glanced to Jake, then stared at the rabbit's paws holding hers. “It's nothing. I just walked right into them."
“It's not nothing. You should be able to take a walk on campus at night and you've done it before. What were you sorry about?" The bear glanced away again and Janice followed her gaze. “Jake, could you give us a moment alone."
Eletta panicked, “No, it wasn't his fault; he didn't do anything wrong."
“Eletta? What happened? What are you talking about?"
The bear felt trapped with nowhere to run or hide and relented quietly, “It was all me. He didn't do anything."
Janice looked to Jake, but he shrugged his confused innocence. “Eletta, just tell me."
She took a couple breaths to build her courage, then hoped for forgiveness as she confessed, “I… I had a dream that I had sex with Jake."
Janice stared at her for a moment. “Is that all? I mean, I'm surprised, but it's nothing to be sorry about. It was just a dream."
“No. It's not just that. I couldn't stop thinking about him. Not any guy, it was just him. I kept dreaming about how he felt and I wanted to feel him. I thought you heard me and figured it out. I'm so sorry. I didn't want to hurt you. I didn't know what to say. You don't have to forgive me; I got what I deserve." She broke down into sobs.
Janice glared at her roommate. “No. No you didn't. Nobody deserves what happened to you, especially not for just a dream. I don't care if you think Jake is sexy, so do I. I would never want you to go through this. If this is somehow my fault, I could never forgive myself."
“No! It's not your fault; it's my fault."
“Oh bear; you didn't do anything bad enough for this."
Eletta started crying again, “You don't understand."
Jake stepped in, “It's neither of you. That cougar, Chance, is to blame. He's the only one that wasn't drunk. He wasn't confused or going along with anything. He knew what he was doing and deserves to get the same done to him."
The two morphs stared at him in surprise.
“You would do something like that?"
“Uh, well, not me. I couldn't make myself do something that horrible."
“But you think someone should."
“Well, no, but he should know what she went through and feel bad about it."
Janice scowled, “I don't think he's the type to feel bad about anything."
“Well, he's going to get his chance. They separated him from the group; and that horse, too. The news was saying they may only get minor charges, while Chance and Cory will get rape and assault and maybe more. I think they should all get more, but I'm probably not the right one to decide that." He thought about his own bad choices.
Janice put a paw on his shoulder. “You might be the best one to decide that."
Jake eyed her nervously, wondering what she was going to say next.
The rabbit smirked and gave Eletta a glance, “And that's what I think makes him sexy, his compassion and how cute he looks when I make him nervous. What do you think, bear?"
Eletta looked at Jake, then turned away, fighting herself as she tried not to reveal her thoughts.
“It's okay. I'm not mad at you. I trust both of you that you're not going to do anything behind my back. Right, Jake?"
He pulled himself from his darkening thoughts, “Of course. Though, I did have a dream a while ago with both of you."
“See, it's totally normal. Dreams are just in our heads. We still get to make the choices when we're awake." She tried rubbing the bear's belly again, but Eletta caught her paws and looked up at her with a still concerned expression. “Why don't we let you rest. We'll see you tomorrow, when they release you." She leaned over to kiss her friend on the cheek and the bear squeezed her paw.
Eletta struggled with her thoughts. She didn't want to be alone, but she didn't know what to say to her friend.
Janice patted her bear friend's paws, then left them on her belly as she stood up. “We'll see you tomorrow."
Jake tried to make his smile comforting as his brain churned.
Janice took his arm and led him out to the elevators. When they were alone for a moment, she smiled at him, “So, you've been dreaming about having sex with my roommate?"
He looked at her nervously, “It was just that one weird, vivid dream that she joined in while we were."
“It wouldn't surprise me if she did. I'm just surprised she was thinking about you after all the time she spent trying to get me." They were quiet as the doors opened and they walked out of the hospital, then she hugged his arm to pull him closer. “Do you really think you still deserve to go to jail?"
Jake hesitated. “I did the same thing. I even killed someone. Why shouldn't I be punished the same?"
She pulled him off the path to look at him, “What you did is not the same. You weren't trying to hurt her; you didn't even want to do it."
“I did a little." Jake thought about how it could have been different.
“But not like that. You're not a bad person and a lot of that group are in the same boat. They did something they truly regret and can't believe they actually did."
“But I wasn't drunk. I should get the same as Chance."
“No you shouldn't. You heard that guy, it's different in a group. He may have gone along because he was drunk, but you were scared. It was … it was Ed that was to blame." She still struggled with the memories that thinking of him brought. “Besides, you've done and are doing things to make up for it."
“I can never make up for what I did."
“I know, but you're not an unfeeling sadist that needs to be kept out of society, like Ed and Thane."
He let the thought sink in and slowly agreed that he was trying to be better than his mistakes.
Janice wrapped her arms around him and held him tight. “I think you're a wonderful person that can do so much good for this world."
Jake hugged her back, thinking about all that she had done for him. “I think you're better."
“Miss Bjørn, you seem to be recovering quite well. I see your rehab scores are excellent. I'm definitely pleased to hear that your speech has recovered without defect. You look a little down, but these rooms can be somewhat depressing. I'm sorry for delaying your release, but I wanted to wait until I could get Dr. Kowler to come in with me. She's an expert in recovery after sexual trauma."
“It's nice to meet you, Miss Bjørn; would you prefer if I call you Eletta?"
The bear morph stared quietly at the two doctors.
“Well, I know you have already been working with counselors, but I wanted her here when we discuss the results of one of your pre-release tests."
“It's perfectly normal to feel some anxiety in these situations; fear, anger, confusion are all natural reactions. It can even feel like you're being violated for a second time, but we want you to know that you're not alone. Even after you leave the hospital, we're here for you. There are support groups and programs available to help you and I'll be happy to meet with you as much as you need."
“We're not sure yet which of your attackers is responsible; we should know more in a few weeks."
“It doesn't matter who it was; you never have to see them again. We'll take care of that for you."
“But you will still need to make a decision."
Eletta stared at the doctor, trying to understand.
“Miss Bjørn, you're pregnant. You have some time, but not knowing the paternal species, we can't be certain of the gestation and it has already been over three months. While there was a human and a human based ursine morph among your assailants, the only semen found inside you was equine. Unless they had a chance before the horse, this could be very interesting."
“But it doesn't take away your choice. You are still free to decide however you feel comfortable."
“Understand that if you choose to carry to term, you would not likely be able to deliver naturally due to the damage to your pelvis, but I'm fairly confident that you can both survive. Do you have any questions?"
Eletta stared at the doctor, juggling a multitude of questions that she wasn't sure she wanted answered.
“Well, here's my card when you want to talk and a collection of information about local support groups and aid programs. We'll give you some time to think about it. I know it's a lot to process suddenly, but you're not alone. Feel free to call me anytime." She put her paw on the bear's and smiled, but Eletta pulled it away.
“You have my information and anyone at the hospital can get you in touch with me, as well. This can be a good thing if you choose it to be."
“We'll let you decide for yourself and remember that whatever you decide, you are not alone."
They smiled and headed for the door. “Are you sure it's best to leave so soon?"
“I got the impression that she is a very introverted and private person. If we push her to talk, it could be more traumatic for her. She'll let us know when she's ready."
Eletta stared at the door after they left, trying to process everything. She wished somebody was with her: Janice, her moms, the coffee group, her movie friends, her teachers, even Connie or those doctors. Instead, she was left with the deafening silence of the room and the cacophony in her own head.
Nobody else came before the horse, not in her entire life. The closest any male had been before was her recent dreams of Jake, but dreams don't get you pregnant … and horses aren't compatible with bears. Could she actually be carrying the world's first naturally blended horse bear morph? Could she have missed the bear or human ejaculating in her? She wished it could all just be a horrible nightmare and she would wake up to see her sexy rabbit roommate smiling at her across their small room and she could tell her all about it. Instead, there was an empty hospital bed where she had watched a stranger have sex and she was still recovering from hearing that she is pregnant after being raped by a dozen strangers, enemies, and friends…
She thought about those friends that she had recognized. Vance: smart, friendly black bear; human based, like the doctor said; liked fantasy movies and building architectural models. Gerry: grey tabby; a little gruff, but polite; liked action movies and unusually flavored coffees. Corina: spotted hyena; spirited injustice fighter; liked dramas and video games. Angier: funny red deer; liked dry comedy and old books.
She still couldn't imagine why they would be part of that and do what they did. The news talked about how the alcohol and drugs made them irresponsible. It said most of them only remembered it as a dream or nightmare… like her dream of Jake… It started after they had celebrated with Gadrey's stuff. She knew it made you forget and she knew it made you horny. Could it also make you do things you wouldn't normally do? Like get off to watching your friend being brutally raped? Or have sex with someone you would never have thought of? Were the dreams real? Did she actually have sex with Janice and Jake? They were all different; how many times did they do it? She hadn't gotten any more of Gadrey's stuff since and she had dreamed of him while she was still bandaged. Did it make her forget all their sex or was only the first one real?
Jake said he had a dream of all three of them. She wondered if Janice did too. She thought back and remembered the rabbit acting strange the morning after. Was it because of a dream? If they all dreamed the same thing, could it be real? If Jake really had sex with her, did he get her pregnant?
The thought was comforting and discomforting at the same time. She was glad it wasn't one of her rapists, but now she had a real reason to feel guilty about Jake. The doctor would be disappointed it's not a horse, but never would have guessed about Jake. He was a wonderful guy and would probably make a great father, but he should be making bunnies with Janice… Did he?
She held her belly and stared at it as she played Russian roulette with her emotions, landing too often on guilt and shame.
