A young dragon, Indyst, has a rough day while learning how to hunt, returning home in a foul mood. His father tries to teach him some important lessons but Indyst doesn't want to hear any of it, eventually falling into a comfortable sleep. Upon awaking he is greeted with something that usually causes more frustration than joy, but after some help he realizes that maybe following the advice his father has can be helpful after all.

Been a super long time since I have written anything, so I would like to say sorry for such a long delay, but also a thank you to anyone who has enjoyed my writing or watched me for more content, your support is always appreciated! This story might not be the quality that anyone has read my work before is expecting, but I hope that you enjoy it anyway.

The warm sun lay uncontested in an empty sky, the only clouds visible far on the horizon, promising a hot day. In the woods and forests creatures were lazily working through there day, no need to rush in such a peaceful time, though there were always exceptions. In the deep shadows of a cool forest there were shrieks and cries as something seemed to be disturbing the natural piece of the place, though at the same time there didn't seem to be anything malevolent nearby, or anything particularly... dangerous.

Indyst, a young dragon whose body was covered in soft grey scales with spots of startling light blue spread through him, a smooth and cloudy blue covering his belly and underside, had been testing out his prowess trying to hunt. He had assumed it would be an easy thing, as a dragon, with natural grace and skill that always seemed to exist in his kind, but evidently that wasn't the case. No matter how carefully he stepped, or how well he tried to hide himself the animals he was after always knew he was there, running before he could get close enough to pounce on them, and leading him on short chases that he lost over and over again.

He knew he still had a lot to learn, but not being able to do something as simple as getting his own food was frustrating, making him more and more agitated as the day went on, and even more prone to mistakes. A stick breaking under him, leaves brushing against his hide, the wind carrying his scent and even those few blue scales of his seemed to set off alarms wherever he was, and eventually he just couldn't take it anymore, swiping his claws through a bush that he had walked too close to, leaning his head back and letting out what he hoped sounded like a furious roar, though the sound was much more noticeable as being annoyed and upset.

Indyst didn't need to hunt for his own food, he wasn't old enough to leave the protection of his family yet after all, but he knew he would need to learn, and he had wanted to learn the skills now. He had been thinking of the pride he would see in his father's eyes if he brought back a powerful buck or even a few large rabbits, but for now it seemed like the only food he was capable of catching was fish, which he was dreadfully tired of. Without any thought of a stealth retreat he beat his wings from where he was, slowly gaining the momentum he needed to take flight, and even that was a risky affair for him, his vision becoming unfocused and feeling dizzy at just the thought of plummeting to the ground, though after such a poor day he didn't even think of such things.

The only good thing that the young dragon had been able to take away from the day was the pleasant warmth of the sun, but the clouds had been creeping closer and closer all day and now it seemed like even that warmth would be denied to him. He thumped down against the smooth stone that marked the entrance to his home, dragging his claws as he walked and letting his tail thump against the ground and wall in annoyance, making no efforts to hide his poor mood. He just wanted to rest now, to try and relax and maybe learn something from the frustrating course of his day.

Kaenrill, the large black and grey dragon who owned the cave had been sleeping soundly all day, enjoying the pile of wealth under him as much as the peace and silence. That was broken at the sound of something approaching though, lazily lifting one eyelid and scanning his cave, it had been so long since he had seen an adventurer before and his hopes listed, before he sighed out in realisation of just what was getting closer. The easily angered dragon who never put time into actually learning had returned, it seemed he was blessed with the company of his son for the rest of the day.

He wanted to close his eyes again, though knew better than to just laze off, there would probably be some terrible fire or cave-in from the herculean amount of sulking that the smaller dragon was capable of, and he liked to keep his home tidy when he could. With a soft rattling of gold coins sliding against each other he slowly got up, stepping down off of his comfortable bed of riches and stretching with a pleased grunt, making his way towards the sound of that scratching and occasional thumping. It didn't take long to find Indyst, and the bigger dragon couldn't help but let out a deep, rumbling chuckle at the site of them, earning him a snarling look from the younger one, despite the fact he was nearly twice as large as they were.

Indyst had hoped to get to his own section of the cave without having to worry about running into his father. He didn't dislike the older dragon, in fact he often enjoyed spending time with them and the kind attitude they showed always made him feel welcome, but they always seemed to critique everything he did, offering advice that wasn't wanted. That chuckle just made him feel more irritated, not hiding the fact as he looked back at the darker form in front of him, staring daggers before just trying to move along.

He wanted to just curl up for the day and sleep off the his annoyance, but found his path blocked by that familiar, dark shape, looking up into the face of his father, and while there seemed to be a caring look on those expressions he couldn't shake the feeling he was being judged for failing to bring back any food. His tail tip flicked back and forth behind him, trying to just barge his way through, but a large paw pushed back against his head, halting his progress and forcing him to step back.

"What do you want? I didn't bring anything back with me." He huffed out, moving to sit back on his haunches, well aware that this wasn't going to be a quick greeting.

"Me? Well, there's nothing I want at the moment, I just thought I would check in on you." Came that deep, rumbling reply. "Hunting can be difficult, so it isn't something you need to feel bad about, you just need a bit more experience."

"As if you would know anything about difficulty, you have everything you need brought to you!" Indyst snapped out, he had seen tributes and treasures brought to the cave before.

Instead of arguing back Kaenrill just let out a humorous laugh at the response, it was true that he was given a lot these days and he occasionally wondered if he was getting to soft, but his strength was still evident.

"I suppose I can't argue with that, I rarely need to hunt for my own food." He nodded his agreement, showing a smile. "But while you might think I have it easy I was once in the same position as you, though not with so many bright scales."

Indyst just scoffed at that, having trouble imagining anything like that. His father, known in towns and kingdoms as the 'Shade of Despair' seemed to have been gifted with everything they wanted. From the stories he had been told when he was younger people ran or offered whatever they could as soon as they heard of a black dragon in the area, animals practically freezing in fear at the sight, so to compare the two just seemed ridiculous.

"You'll need to forgive me if I don't believe such obvious lies." The smaller dragon replied, sarcasm heavy in his voice.

"Oh? You think I've always been like this? I had to hunt just like you do, at one point in my life, but believe me when I tell you everything I have now has been well earned." Kaenrill replied, gesturing around the cave. "No one is born with power, but everyone has the potential, and one day you might even be stronger than me."

"Yeah, and maybe while I'm at it I'll shoot lightning from my eyes and chase the sun from the sky." Indyst rolled his eyes, for him his father was the ideal of what it was to be a dragon, and he doubted he would ever be so... impressive.

"It's true, I was only half your size at your age, it took me a longer time to grow, but because of that I learned that sometimes you can't solve things with just strength. I've told you before, but you need to remember that the strongest weapon a dragon has isn't sharp fangs or claws, or even our fire that can melt stone from the walls, it is our mind. No other species lives as long as us, and our memories are our biggest strength." The big dragon lifted a paw, a claw tapping at the side of his own head. "Do you know why you failed in your hunt today?"

Indyst had been listening with growing interest, but at having his failed hunt brought up he threw his head back with a gasp, looking away from the big dragon in front of him.

"What? It's because I couldn't remember? I don't remember exactly where each creature will be, or where every stick underfoot is, I'm sorry I can't remember the wind shifts suddenly in a way I can't control and lets everything know where I am hiding!" He burst out, showing how upset he had been feeling after failing to catch anything.

"Well, you're half right. You don't need to remember everything, but you seem to be purposefully forgetting the most important things."

"What could be more important than what I am hunting? Is there some secret I should know? Can I turn invisible at will?" Indyst asked, feeling like he was being toyed with, with those questions.

"Sometimes you can be a bit hard to notice..." His father replied with a tilt of their head and a soft chuckle. "But that's not it. It might be hard to understand but no one is perfect, and it is important to keep that in mind. The thing that you keep forgetting is simple, it's the mistakes you make, you can never learn if you don't think on them."

"My... My mistakes?" Indys asked, sounding shocked to hear something like that. "Now I know you are just trying to upset me, mistakes are not meant to be made at all, so why should I bother remembering them? I will never do better if I remember how to do poorly!" He half shouted at the end.

"I know it can be tough to understand, but that's just how you learn." Kaenrill replied, giving a light shake of his head. "If you touch something and get hurt from it, then you know it is painful and to be avoided, that is common understanding, so tell me, is it a mistake to touch it?"

"Of course it is! Only a fool would touch something only to get hurt!"

"Well then how do you know it will hurt you? If you just assume everything will hurt you then you will never get anywhere, sometimes you need to take risks, and sometimes you need to make mistakes." The darker dragon had a lecturing tone to his voice. "If you stumble over the roots of a tree then you should know to look out for them, so that you won't do it again. Every mistake you make is something you can learn from."

Indyst just let out an agitated groan, shaking his head, obviously not grasping the concept. He was far too focused on just being the best that he could, and that meant there was no room for mistakes, why would he need to learn if he never made any in the first place?

"I make the mistake of coming here to hear you complain about how I'm not good enough all the time, and I keep coming back, maybe I should learn from that!" He huffed out, turning away and trying to calm himself down a bit.

Kanrill just nodded his head, staying quiet for now. He wanted his son to learn, to be better but it was obvious that right now they weren't in the mindset for it, and anything he said would probably just make them more upset at this point. He let out a soft sigh, leaning down and resting against the ground, his head next to the smaller frame of his son, looking over those grey and blue scales, the bright blue bringing him memories of his mate, a smile spreading across his muzzle at the pleasant memories.

He stayed quite for a moment, just waiting until the smaller dragon was in a more reasonable frame of mind, not feeling rushed and happy to just spend some time with them for now. He wanted to share his own experiences, but even he had been arrogant in his youth, listening to little that he was told, so he knew it would likely be a similar experience here. Letting himself relax again he let out a content rumble, hearing a huff from the younger dragon at the noise, but no harsh or annoyed words to follow the sound.

Indyst knew his father wanted to help him, but those words just seemed so... so weak! He couldn't understand why anyone would want to focus on mistakes, it was best just to move on and keep trying until there weren't any more mistakes. His body was resilient and tough so he didn't have to worry about hurting more than his pride with any foolish mistakes. His body had matured quickly since he had been young, and that had sparked a fierce pride in his father before, but now as his rate of growth slowed down it seemed like the older dragon just wanted him to do more, to be more.

Eventually he had calmed down a bit though, feeling sorry for his harsh words, feeling like they were probably unwarranted despite how he felt. He turned back towards his father, slumping down and resting his chin on top of that powerful muzzle, remembering a time when his whole body had been able to cling to that large head, a small smile showing at the thought. He was thankful for everything he was given, it just seemed like sometimes things were so unreasonable though, and he was certain he was right in his arguments.

"I... I'm sorry for the harsh words, I know you weren't trying to upset me." He said eventually, huffing out through his nose. "I just... sometimes things are just so annoying!"

Kaenrill gave a knowing grunt at those words, shifting a bit so that he was half lying on his side, comfortable in the cool shade of the cave.

"I know, you're my offspring so I know you are smarter than to pick a fight with someone so mighty." He said with a grin. "It's just youth, you're full of energy and life and it can be tough when things don't work out how you want. You will just have to believe me when I say you will figure things out though. I have no doubts that you will be a great dragon eventually, not that I don't think you are great already."

Indyst smiled at those words, it seemed like his father always knew how to make him happy, even after feeling upset. He shifted around a bit, rolling his body with a soft thump into that larger form, pressing his scaled back up against the larger body as he lay next to the bigger dragon, relaxing a bit now after such a rough and disappointing day. It was always nice to just spend time together with someone that genuinely cared for him, letting himself fall into the sensation of protectiveness that he always felt around them, spending time just rumbling softly until he let out a wide yawn, starting to feel more tired than relaxed.

"Mm, thank you for helping me feel better, but I think I am going to go get some sleep." He said, yawning again and moving to stand up, though grunted at feeling a large paw drape over his body and pull him back down.

"You can rest here, you I'm sure the smooth stone you are used to is nice but we rarely spend so much time together anymore." Kaenrill rumbled in reply, hugging that smaller body back against his own, just enjoying the closeness and comfort of getting to rest with someone else.

Indyst felt a bit surprise, he had expected no arguments with leaving since his father was always busy with counting his coins are taking more, but now he just got to spend the night in that comfortable embrace. He smiled happily, giving a nod of his head and wriggling back a bit, letting his head rest on top of the black paw still under him, remembering the nights he had spent under the protective wing or arm of the familiar body behind him. The simple joy of something so small was enough to set his mind at ease at least, and he drifted off to sleep happily, not angry over what had happened during the day like he probably would have done alone.

His sleep was peaceful, pleasant half remembered dreams drifting through his mind as he felt himself slowly start to wake. The presence of his father still there was obvious, the sound of their breath huffing out loudly an obvious sign that the bigger dragon was still sleeping. Not wanting to wake them he stayed still, letting his body rest for a while longer still, shifting a bit to try and roll over at least but letting out a hissing gasp at realising maybe his dreams had been more exciting than he had thought.

It was an... issue that Indyst had found himself facing recently, waking up with his length half outside his slit, the flesh overly sensitive and making him gasp out whenever he touched at it. The sensation sent electric feeling bolts of pleasure running through him, but he had always ended up just feeling needier by the time things ended, like his body was building up towards something he just couldn't reach despite how much he used his paws. As a dragon he had never thought much of modesty, he had seen his father's exposed shaft before and while it had been a surprising sight it wasn't something he had felt embarrassed over seeing.

Even shifting his hind legs caused him to feel the promised delight of pressing against himself, the spaded tip twitching as more dragon flesh pushed out of his slit at just the thought. He knew well enough what it was meant for, but he had no mate and doubted he would have one any time soon, so being so excited out of nowhere always just left him feeling conflicted. Without much though he pushed a forepaw down between his hind legs, a quiet groan escaping his maw as he felt the warmth of his tip, his hips grinding forwards in a natural response.

The movements were small, almost hesitant, but already he could feel the promise of even more pleasure building inside of him, making his tail smack against the ground under him. His breath was already huffing out of his maw faster, his jaws opened as he licked at his lips, feeling drawn to the sensation of pleasure even if he knew he would just feel disappointed afterwards. His movements were bumping back against the larger body behind him, but he thought nothing of it, he was just doing what felt natural as he had always done.

After only a few moments he was fully hard, a spire of draconic flesh pressed out of his slit, too much to fit within just one paw which made it even harder to grip at it. Small drops of pre oozed from the tip occasionally, forced out each time he felt his shaft throb, gritting his teeth and hissing at the blissful sensation. Eventually he had both forepaws pressed between his hind legs, his hips moving more than anything else, grinding against himself with rough, uneven thrusts that left him tingling at the sensation.

Indyst could feel that pressure building, knowing he was getting close to... something, though so far whatever it was had always managed to evade his attempts at reaching it. He felt a need, almost desperately to reach that peak though, to finally finish off the teasing that his paws always seemed to cause. His breath was gasping and whining out of him, echoing softly off the walls of the cave, verbalising just how focused he was on himself now, though while his small movements had been enough to ignore those noises eventually roused the bigger dragon.

Kaenrill woke with a surprised huff, slowly opening his eyes as he listened, feeling that smaller body shifting against him, those soft noises of frustration easy to pick up. He lifted his head, craning his neck while letting out a yawn, trying to see what was causing Indyst so much discomfort, though the sight that he was met with almost made him laugh. The attitude he had seen recently certainly made more sense now, since he had no doubt that the smaller dragon had been trying to deal with that particular problem without a lot of success.

"You look like you are having a bit of trouble there." He said with a soft laugh, lifting his large paw and moving back a bit to give the younger dragon more space.

Indyst just lifted his head with a gasp, not stopping his movements, and giving a nod of his head. "It just... It feels nice but never... finished." He huffed out, a mix of pleasure and annoyance written across his face.

Kaenrill just gave a light shake of his head, he had been focused on trying to teach the younger dragon everything he could, but with the age they were at he realised a way to relieve some stress would probably be much more useful.

"Well of course it would feel unfinished, your paws are nowhere near dexterous enough to do what you want." He huffed out, watching those small hips grinding upwards. "I'm half surprised you haven't figured out an... easier way for things yet."

Indyst slowed down his desperate movements at hearing that. "Easier? I... I'm not a fool, I don't have a mate so what else could I do?" He asked, sounding eager for an answer.

"Having a mate is important, but trying to carry on your line isn't the only thing that is important, pleasure is hard to ignore. It would be disrespectful to have a mate rush to your needs any time you wanted them to, but there is more you can do by yourself." The larger dragon replied, leaning down and letting his tongue flick out, dragging along Indyst's face as if for emphasis.

"More I can do by myself?" He asked, not understanding at first, gasping when he felt that tongue against his face, sputtering out a bit. It had been a long while since he had been groomed like that, feeling the slick saliva against his face, and it took a moment to realise what Kaenrill was trying to tell him.

He wasted little time with trying to put his thoughts into action, shifting and twisting his body until he was curled around himself, his snout resting in front of his twitching shaft and flicking his tongue out against it without any delay, shuddering and gasping at the sensation. He pushed his tongue further out, twisting the dexterous muscle around his shaft as well as he was able to, the slippery length squeezing gently at his sensitive member and making his hips plunge forwards against his own snout, filling his maw with his needy cock.

Indyst let out a delighted moan at the new, and intense sensation, the warmth and wetness of his mouth surrounding himself in a way that made it hard to control his own body, his hips giving uneven, shuddering pushes against his mouth. He closed his jaws a bit and winced instantly at the mistake, feeling his pointed teeth for only a moment but deciding it definitely wasn't a sensation he wanted to feel again. He tried to balance between keeping his maw open enough not to hurt himself as well as wanting to close his mouth to feel the warmth engulf his throbbing shaft, his hind paws kicking out a bit at the sensations flooding through him.

Eventually he pulled back with a loud, half annoyed gasp, his length slick and dripping with a mix of his saliva and pre, and while it was much more pleasurable than his paws he was still having trouble getting to just where he wanted. He knew that with some practice he would likely be better, but for now he was just needy and didn't have the focus required, his body unexperienced and close to release but unable to release it without likely harming himself. He looked up, as if silently asking for assistance, and was met with a rumbling chuckle.

"I guess you aren't quite a natural, and from the looks of things you found out how dangerous your own maw can be." Kaenrill opening his own jaws wide to show off his dangerous and threatening teeth, licking at his lips. "I suppose I can try and teach you something important, if you want to listen that is." He finished with a wink down at the other dragon.

Indyst nodded eagerly, feeling an enthusiasm to learn from his father that he hadn't felt for a long time, even if those feelings were just driven by need.

"Maybe a demonstration would be best then, do you mind rolling over onto your back?" The older dragon asked, watching as Indyst moved to do what they were told, their hips and shaft still twitching despite the fact they were trying to stay still. "Just remember to try and stay still, and learn what you can." Kaenrill finished with a deep rumble.

The large dragon thumped down against the floor again, resting above the smaller dragon's body, his head moving down over his belly and resting before that excited length, warm breath huffing out of his nose and watching as it made Indyst squirm under him. His tongue slowly slipped out, dragging slowly across that throbbing length but even that was enough for the younger dragon to lose control, wincing as he felt the claws of their paws gripping at the underside of his neck, as well as feeling those hips already eagerly pumping forwards against him.

Indyst couldn't control himself, he thought he had been prepared but the touch of someone else just seemed to be so much more intense. The moment he felt that tongue against him his body had reacted without him even understanding what was happening, his hips grinding forwards eagerly and his paws gripping hard at the larger body on top of him, only half aware of the fact his claws were sinking into the softer underside of the bigger dragon. His voice groaned out loudly, and he was thankful to feel that tongue continuing to move, coiling around him and then squeezing down, causing a few hard throbs and a rapid series of grinding thrusts from his hips.

He was already panting, feeling himself rapidly building up towards a release that he had yet to experience, and as he felt that large head moving down further he knew that he would finally reach what he had been so desperate to find before. Almost as soon as he felt that warmth close around him he knew that he had done if finally, his tip pressing up and grinding against the ridged roof of that large mouth, his body tensing and trying to squeeze down around the big dragon's muzzle as hard as he could. His back arched and his maw opened wide, letting out a loud roar of delight and relief.

Kaenrill felt the throbbing of that length and knew what was about to come, a small grin on his muzzle at how eager Indyst seemed. He lowered his head, feeling the tip grind against his mouth and then felt that smaller body tensing up, well aware of what to expect. He huffed out through his nose, feeling that length twitching and throbbing uncontrollably, those hips grinding against him as if they weren't deciding on sitting still or rapidly thumping into his maw, though Kaenrill just sat still, his tongue squeezing even harder as he felt those first spurts of seed against his tongue, just huffing out through his nose and swallowing down the hot spurts of cum.

Indyst was flooded with bliss, stars dancing in front of his eyes and his body feeling full of energy that he had never experienced before. He could feel his shaft spurting inside that delightful maw, and eventually he started to calm down, his breath panting out loudly as he lay back with a dazed but pleased expression on his face. He felt that tongue give one last squeeze before pulling away from him, letting out a weak groan at the sensation, a feeling of weakness flooding through him after so much excitement but the feeling of that pleasure was slow in fading from his mind.

It took a while, but eventually he lifted his head up a bit, half out of breath still, his length quickly starting to retreat back into his slit after being spent. His delight was obvious with how loud he was rumbling, as well as the big grin on his face, and he couldn't help but smile wider at the chuckle from Kaenrill above him, slowly moving to roll over onto his side.

"That... That was incredible!" He huffed out, licking at his lips and deciding it was definitely something he wanted to experience again.

"Well I'm glad you liked it, hopefully you were able to learn something from the experience." Replied the bigger dragon, raising a brow a bit while waiting for a reply.

"Mmm... I learned that it was something more amazing than I could have thought." He replied with that grin still on his face. "But... Maybe I might need another demonstration to learn better!"

Kaenrill just laughed loudly at the response, leaning down and sharing the contagious joy that Indyst seemed to be full of, deciding that maybe the smaller dragon might be able to learn a thing or two from him after all.
