Chapter 9

“System online. Beginning fabrication of prototype." a synthetic female voice sounded from a machine in Conner's garage.

Conner looked at his phone and chuckled, all the media could talk about was the Dodge Charger that somehow managed to go 1500 kph. Conner was surprised it took so long for him to be suspected of owning said vehicle. He wasn't exactly known by the public but his father was a billionaire and people knew who he was and they knew that the billionaire had a genius son.

Conner turned around to look at his car collection “The Cadillac fits in perfectly, a CT5-V Blackwing fits in so fucking well." Conner said happily to himself.

“Ah shit! I wanted to pick up Daniella on her first day of her senior year!" Conner muttered to himself as he jumped into his Hellcat.

“So you're telling me that said car is in his garage?" a green dragoness with a brown underbelly said.

“Yes Karyna, Conner is indeed the owner of the supersonic Charger." Daniella said in annoyance.

Both dragonesses looked out the classroom window as the window shook slightly and a black Dodge Charger pulled into the parking lot of the highschool.

“Look who came to pick you up!" Treena said from across the room.

Daniella responded by shooting a puff of flame out of her maw. Treena just chuckled and Karyna rolled her eyes.

Conner pulled his laptop out and hooked it up to the Charger's computer before popping the hood.

“Software update successful." the AI said.

Conner revved the engine slightly causing the ground to shake. Conner lowered the hood then sat on the front of the car as the front doors of the school opened.

Conner saw two dragons land in front of him “Came to see your daughter after her first day of grade twelve?" Conner shouted to Aeros and Scarlet.

The jet black drake and the red dragoness began approaching him with smiles on their muzzles.

“You came to pick her up?" Scarlet asked.

“Why not? I'm available in the afternoon so why not?" Conner said.

“Fair." Aeros responded

Conner sensed someone approaching and turned around to see Daniella “Well if it isn't my favourite people in the world." Daniella said with a smile as she padded over to them.

“How was your first day?" Aeros asked his daughter.

“It was school dad!" Daniella huffed.

“Well I'll let you two get on home now." Aeros chuckled

Conner smiled at his friend's parents before jumping into his car, Daniella jumped in after him and waved at her parents before Conner took off.

Conner grumbled to himself as he awoke to the sound of his AI trying to wake him.

“Conner if you don't deal with that… I swear!" Daniella groggily hissed.

“I sWeAr!" Conner mocked. Daniella punched him in the shoulder as he got up.

Conner grumbled as he made his way to the garage. Once he entered he walked over to a wall directly behind his Dodge Charger and pressed his hand to the wall. The spot on the wall where he pressed his hand lit up and a horizontal line of light streaked up and down his hand before beeping a happy chime. The wall opened with a hiss to reveal a secret room, Conner stepped in and the wall closed behind him.

“What is it Computer?" Conner grumbled as he rubbed his eyes.

“Don't give me that shit sir, the weapons you set are done fabricating!" the AI snapped at him.

“Sometimes I wonder if it was a bad idea to make you sentient." Conner mused.

“HAH! And for me to be half as useful? Don't be foolish!" the AI retorted.

Conner chuckled before walking over to the Elemental Fabricator, as he did the machine opened to reveal three smartphone sized objects each were slightly different in size. The largest metal plate had .50 BMG written on it, the medium sized one had 30-06 written on it and the smallest had 7.62x51mm written on it.

“Your weapons are complete. I was able to integrate nanite technology into the lever action with relative ease. The FN was slightly more difficult because of all the attachments you insisted on having and the Barrett was easier than the Scar-17."

“My Winchester, my Scar and my M82A1 are all ready and unbelievably illegal!" Conner chuckled!

“Now Conner don't go doing something awful with that!" the AI said jokingly.

Conner scoffed “Oh come off it! You know what I plan to do if the testing with… well you know what." Conner said as he picked up something that was a mix between a satchel and a plate carrier. It had a strap that was meant to go over a shoulder and a band that went around the lower torso just above the waistline. The band just above the waistline had four pockets, three were the size of smartphones and the fourth was the size of a lighter. Conner took his shirt off before putting the satchel on. Conner picked up the largest of the plates before squeezing it causing it to click several times before folding out in a large fifty caliber sniper rifle, a Barrett M82A1 chambered in .50 BMG. Conner squeezed the grip of the gun causing it to fold in on itself with a series of metal clicking sounds before he put it into the largest pocket. Conner checked both other weapons, a Scar-17 chambered in 7.62x51mm with a red dot sight, thirty round mag, a red laser sight mounted to the side, a flashlight on the opposite side of the laser and a vertical foregrip. The last was his lever action hunting rifle with a military grade sniper scope mounted to the top chambered in 30-06 and it was made by Winchester. Conner put his revolver in last before smiling at the fact that he was able to carry all blacked out weapons with ease.

Conner exited the secret room as he was putting his shirt on over the specialized satchel, Daniella entered the garage just after the secret door closed and Conner had fixed his shirt. He panicked slightly but realized very quickly that the dragon hadn't seen a thing. Conner opened the trunk of the Charger to avoid suspicion.

“Hey Conner? I got invited to a party, can you please come with me?" Daniella asked in a pleading tone.

“Oh boy." Conner sighed “Ella you know how I am with socializing and parties! Don't do this to me!" Conner whined.

“I fucking knew your introverted ass was gonna say no! Why are you like this?" Daniella questioned in frustration.

“Because I just don't like people, I don't like socializing and with how outgoing you are and how much attention you draw it's just exhausting!" Conner exclaimed.

“Could you atleast give me a ride?" she asked as she flicked her tail.

Conner sighed before lifting his right arm and tapping the screen on it causing the Raptor R to roar to life “Fine." he said in a defeated tone.

Conner knew the dragon all too well, she was going to get him to stay at that party no matter what.

“Do you think she'll manage to drag him here Treena?" Karyna asked the silver dragoness next to her as they sat in Treena's parents' living room.

Treena chuckled “He's one stubborn guy but she's one stubborn ness.

Karyna snorted in agreement.

They both looked up and out the open window when they heard the roar of a V8 and the wine of a supercharger that turned into a scream before they heard multiple turbos sputter and an exhaust backfire.

“Well she got him to give her a ride, I feel like she's gonna drag his ass out of that car!" Treena said with a smirk and Karyna laughed.

The two dragons noticed something about the vehicle approaching “Is it just me or does that sound louder and slightly different than his Charger." Treena questioned as she looked over at Karyna.

A large black vehicle drifted onto the street sending a spray of snow everywhere causing the vehicle to be hidden from view besides the red headlights peaking menacingly through the snow.

The truck rolled up and the passenger door opened as they stepped out the front door.

“Can you atleast bring the alcohol inside with me?" Daniella whined in desperation.

“I can't believe I agreed to buy alcohol! Who knew being nineteen would have its drawbacks!" Conner groaned as he grabbed multiple cases of alcohol from the backseat of his truck.

Conner noticed he was being watched and mumbled a 'hello' as he passed the two dragons on the front porch.

“That truck is quite an intimidating thing when it's dark and hidden by snowfall." Treena said to Conner as he walked by.

Conner finally brought the last of the alcohol inside when he went to leave but was yanked off his feet by a pair of black draconic paws.

“Block the door and help me! He is unbelievably strong!" Daniella exclaimed as Conner began trying to shake her off.

Karyna and Treena rushed over and each grabbed one of his legs before carrying him over to the couch. Conner almost broke free but was tossed onto the couch and quickly found himself under Daniella.

“Fuck Ya'll!" Conner grumbled as he shifted around to be more comfortable.

Conner freed his arms before pointing his left arm towards the direction of his truck before tapping the screen twice and lowering his arms when he heard the horn beep to confirm it was locked and the alarm was set.

“Can someone pass me a drink so this weasel doesn't try to get away." Daniella said with a chuckle.

“Consider yourself lucky I'm even letting you drink." Conner grumbled as he lifted his right hand and held his fingers out as if holding something that wasn't there.

A case full of vodka sodas opened on its own and a can levitated out rather quickly into Conner's hand before handing it to the dragon in his lap. Conner opened his right hand palm up and flicked his wrist with his pointer and middle finger sticking out causing the cans in the case he opened to float out, he closed his fist before opening it spreading his fingers wide causing a can to float towards each person at the party.

“Your local magical underage alcohol dealer is at your service." Conner chuckled and the thirty other humans and dragons chuckled at his comment.

Conner lost track of time as the night progressed, Daniella finally let him free but Conner decided to not disappoint his friend so he stayed. Conner saw Daniella walking back to the couch to sit next to him with another drink in hand. Conner sighed, he had been keeping track of how much she had drunk, three shots of whisky and now a fifth vodka soda.

“How many drinks have you had Ella?" Conner sighed.

“Lost *hic* count!" she responded.

Conner sighed again as Daniella put the drink to her mouth and downed it in a single gulp. Daniella turned back around to the table in the dining room and grabbed a whisky bottle.

“Danielle… don't do what you are about to do!" Conner said with a frown.

“Too late!" she responded as she drank the rest of the bottle that had a quarter left in it.

Daniella put the bottle back down on the table before stumbling over to Conner and flopping onto the couch with her head into Conner's lap.

“Hey Treena? Isn't this one cute or what?" Daniella asked as she caressed Conner's cheek.

Conner felt everyone watching him and he tried to get up but Daniella planted her haunches in his lap and grabbed his shoulders.

“Ella… what the fuck are you doING *GASP*!" Conner gasped as Daniella began nibbling along his jawline.

“God… I love your beard!" Daniella slurred.

Daniella began purring and everyone saw the look of discomfort on Conner's face.

“I can't… you're too cute…" Daniella said groggily before she began snoring.

“What… the fuck… just happened?" Conner said in confused disbelief.

“Alcohol clouds a person's judgment or lets the truth out… and that… that seemed genuine. Like suppressed feelings being let out by liquid courage." Karyna said with a slight smirk.

“Oh… FUCK!" Conner exclaimed with wide eyes. “Maybe it was just clouded judgment and that isn't the case!" Conner said in slight panic. “I'm six foot five, I don't think I could handle being little spoon in a relationship."

Conner heard a few people chuckling and he shot a glare in their direction.

Daniella shifted around and slumped to the side pulling Conner down with her, she wrapped her forelegs around his neck and her hindlegs around his waist.

Conner awoke the next morning and to his horror his crotch was pressed to Daniella's and he had morning wood. Conner tried to wiggle out of the dragon's grasp but she held him tighter.

“Alright Nope!" Conner said as he flicked his wrist with his pointer and middle finger extended.

Conner paralyzed Daniella before bolting to the washroom. Treena had woken up about the same time Conner did and had seen what happened, she chuckled before making her way over to the black and red dragoness waiting for her to wake up.

Daniella woke up thirty minutes later and Treena told her what happened while she was drunk, Daniella's eyes went wide and the scales on her face turned a lighter colour.

“No… I…." Daniella faltered as the memories of last night came flooding back.

Conner came out of the washroom and saw the look of horror on Daniella's face and Treena sitting next to her.

“Lemme guess… you told her about last night?" Conner said to Treena, Daniella averted her gaze and hung her head in embarrassment.

“Look Conner, I'm so sorry about last night. I don't know what came over me." Daniella said with a look that was desperate for Conner to accept her apology.

“Hey! Relax, I'm not mad ok?" Conner said with an awkward smile.

Conner began walking towards the door “I think imma head out now." Conner said.

“Alright Conner. See you later." Treena said with a smile.

Conner waved as he opened the door and walked out. Conner took a deep breath of the winter air as he walked towards his truck.

“Danielle, I'm not mad at you! It will be much easier if you just come with me in my truck." Conner said as he noticed she had come outside and was preparing to launch into the sky.

She sighed before walking over then getting into the truck.

A Dragons Graduation

Chapter 10

Conner awoke and slipped out of Daniella's grasp relatively easily before walking to the washroom. Conner looked in the mirror and sighed as he ran his finger along the massive scar starting at his jaw and ending across his collarbone. It had been a few months since he was slashed across the right side of his neck.

“At least it looks intimidating rather than disfiguring." he sighed as he brushed his finger across his neck again.

“Doesn't make me look at you any differently Conner!" Daniella said, causing Conner to jump slightly and whip around.

“God dammit dragon! Scared the shit out of me!" Conner laughed.

Daniella just smirked before entering the shower room. Conner went into the basement where the other washroom with a shower room was. It was a room designed to look like a cave with two chambers inside, one was actually made of stone and the other chamber was smaller and the walls and floor were made from soft cushion like foam that looked like rock and one wall of the cushioned chamber was a fake rock bench made of the foam rocks. Conner pressed a waterproof digital panel on the chamber wall causing water to start raining down from the ceiling.

Thirty minutes later Conner had gotten dressed and fitted his universal vehicle fob to his left wrist before making his way into the kitchen.

“Hey Conner? My graduation is today…" Daniella said, letting her words linger as she entered the kitchen.

It was obvious to Conner that she was asking him to not only drive her there but stay as well. “Yes I'll give you a ride and yes I'll stay." Conner said with a sigh.

“Oh my God really?!" Daniella exclaimed in excitement “No arguing that you don't want to go… just yes?" she added with a smile.

“Yes." Conner said as he tried to hide the smile creeping across his face.

“Oh my God! Thank you." she squeaked in excitement as she bounded over to him before jumping up onto her hindlegs and wrapping her forelegs under Conner's arms and holding the back of his head with her forepaws and pressing his head into her chest. Conner just chuckled and hugged her back.

Conner walked into the main entrance of the highschool he had graduated from with Daniella right behind him.

“So how much changed after I graduated?" he asked “I'm surprised fat ass never came out to scream at me when I pulled into the parking lot this time." he added.

“Oh that egotistical prick of a principle is still here." Daniella grumbled.

“Oh just fucking great!" Conner grumbled before telling a teacher off who tried to get him to take his hat off.

“No, I'm not a fucking student, I'm actually this ones legal guardian." Conner said to the stubborn teacher who wouldn't back off so Conner just walked away. Daniella addressed the teacher and he saw the recognition finally flicker over the idiot's face and she grumbled an apology before walking off.

Conner shook his head before saying, “You go wherever you're supposed to go and I'll be in the gym where I'm supposed to go." Conner smiled as he made his way to the gym and sat next to Aeros who had gotten there slightly earlier.

“So what do you think she should do after? College, workplace or nothing?" Conner asked the black drake.

“Well you should drag her to college with you" Aeros said loudly because of how loud the gym was.

“Fair." Conner said as the graduating class began entering the gym.

Daniella walked up onto the stage after her name was called and noticed her veins pulse purple, she looked up when she heard Conner cheering and saw that his veins and eyes were glowing purple and his hands were above his head and clenched into fists and engulfed in flames. She shook her head before walking over and begrudgingly shaking the principal's hand and smiled for Conner's mother as she took a picture before showing her camera to Scarlet.

The graduation began coming to a close and the graduates were allowed to move around and Daniella immediately went over to Conner and wrapped her tail around his right wrist.

“Catherine, I have a great idea for another picture." Daniella said with a smirk.

“You look adorable in your graduation gown Daniella." Scarlet said with a smile.

“Thank you mother." she responded with a smile.

Daniella dragged Conner by the wrist over to an open spot along a wall of the gym and Conner's mother followed. Daniella stood on her hind paws and wrapped her forepaws around Conner's neck before curling her left wing across Conner's chest. Conner rolled his eyes and grasped her wing claw with his right hand and smiled as his mother took the picture.

“Hey Conner, Party at Karyna's?" Daniella whispered into his ear.

Conner sighed “Sure, but you are gonna go easy on the fucking alcohol!" Conner said firmly.

“Glad I didn't have to drag you here Conner." Daniella said with a smile with a drink in her paw.

Conner just chuckled before taking a sip of water “I know how you are with alcohol so I'd rather make sure you get home safe as I don't even drink anyway, always been the designated driver." Conner said with a smile as Daniella leaned into Conner.

Conner noticed a few drakes looking at him with jealousy, Conner just gave them a 'what?' look before Daniella noticed and put her drink down before snarling and curling around Conner protectively. Conner saw smoke begin spewing out from her nostrils and from between her teeth. Conner lifted his left hand and began stroking her neck, Daniella flinched at first before she leaned into his touch.

A few hours later Conner and Daniella began leaving “See you later Karyna." Conner said with a smile as he waved to the green dragoness as he walked out the front door.

“So what are we going to do? Are you going to take the same classes as me in college?" Conner asked as he made his way towards a black shape in the form of a car with the moonlight glinting off the roof.

“I assume we are probably going to be a part of each other's lives until we die so why not." Daniella said with her head turned towards Conner who was walking beside her.

“Fair." Conner said as he tapped the device on his left wrist causing the car in front of them to shake the ground as it started.

“I really like the headlights and underglow set to red. It compliments the black body colour so well." Conner said as he walked around to the driver side of the blacked out Dodge Charger.

“I definitely have to agree with you on that one Conner." Daniella said with a smile as she got into the passenger side of the modified muscle car.

Conner was on his computer applying for college “So you said you're going to take all the same classes as me?" Conner turned to the dragoness sitting on her haunches next to him.

“Yes. You are probably going to be taking over your fathers company in the future, would be pretty foolish not to work by your side." Daniella responded with a smile.

“I see your point and having someone else who is actually intelligent would be wonderful." Conner chuckled as he began selecting classes.

“This one is interesting, it's basically about the top species in our society, gryphons, dragons, humans and whatnot. Sounds interesting, always wanted to learn more about your species anyway." Conner said as he registered for the course.

“I definitely would like to learn more about humans so that works out great." Daniella responded with a smile.

Realization, Confession

Chapter 11

Conner was zoned out as he sat in the classroom in college, he was already on his second week and this species 'history' class had been interesting but he really didn't care how dragons went about seeking out and attracting a partner. Conner zoned back in when something caught his attention, the professor had branched off into dragon on human topics and his eyes went wide. The things the professor was describing were startlingly familiar, as the professor continued Conner got even more uncomfortable at what he was realizing. The next thing the professor said caused Conner to fall out of his chair before quickly scrambling to his feet collecting his things and bolting out of the classroom.

Daniella had risen from her chair and attempted to follow but the professor stopped her “I feel like you should give him some space Danielle, he seems to be very shocked to find out that a dragon fancies him." the green dragoness said firmly.

The whole class turned their heads when the sound of a V8 roaring to life came from outside and a black Dodge Charger peeled out of the parking lot engine roaring and supercharger screaming.

“Guess I'm flying home." Daniella mumbled to herself as she hung her head low and sagging her wings slightly.

“How long have you had feelings for him?" Treena asked with her head cocked slightly to the right.

“Since before my first heat." Daniella sighed “Can we move onto another subject please?" Daniella pleaded and the professor nodded.

“What the fuck!" Conner said in disbelief with his head in his hands before dragging his hands down his face. “Computer, send the Cadillac to go pick her up. It's over an hour drive from here to Lindsay, I can't leave her to fly home." Conner said with a sigh as his Cadillac roared to life.

“I'll be away for a few weeks, it's rifle season for moose hunting and I have a tag." Conner said over the phone as he grabbed a box of 30-06 rifle rounds from his ammunition safe.

Conner grumbled to himself as he hung up the phone “The fact that I had to explain why neither of us will be attending class is a bit stupid. I'm a fucking adult and your legal guardian." Conner frustratedly grumbled to the black dragoness sitting on her haunches behind him.

“I do understand that it's not exactly their business but they do want a reason why." Daniella responded flatly as she flicked her tail.

Conner grumbled as he grabbed his hunting gear and made his way downstairs to the back door. He was thankful things didn't seem to be awkward between them after he found out a few weeks ago that Daniella had feelings for him.

Conner slowly crawled through the underbrush with his rifle in his left hand, he turned his head slightly to make sure Daniella was still behind him. She was practically on top of him with how close she was but he didn't care. The foliage broke up ahead revealing a clearing ahead, Conner made a hand gesture for Daniella to stop and he pointed to the clearing. Ahead was a massive bull moose, Conner noted its antlers and realized it was legal. Conner smiled as he raised his rifle scope to his left eye, Conner had his finger on the trigger and was about to shoot when he sneezed causing him to squeeze the trigger. Conner regained composure and muttered a 'fuck' when he realized it was a bad shot.

“God dammit! We need to track it. It's going to bleed out anyway!" Conner said in a raised voice as he got up and felt his right hip for his revolver.

The human and dragon approached the spot the moose was hit and Daniella began sniffing the blood before taking off in the direction the moose went.

“Hey! Wait!" Conner shouted as he ran after the dragon.

Daniella crashed through the underbrush as she followed the blood trail “He's moving fast but I'm gaining" she thought aloud to herself.

Daniella crashed into a marshy clearing when she spotted the moose. It was in the middle of a marsh and it was stumbling, Daniella growled before crouching low.

'I'm gonna need a shower after this.' Daniella thought to herself as she lifted her right paw that was covered in mud.

Daniella got within meters of the moose when she lept at it and latched onto its neck. The moose went down hard and she held on crushing its windpipe until it stopped moving. Daniella sighed in relief as she began dragging the moose towards dry and solid ground. Once she got the moose out of the marsh she looked towards where she came from and let out a roar in a way that ment I'm over here.

Conner crashed through the brush less than thirty seconds later and let out a sigh of relief before pulling out his hunting knife.

“Well that was successful." Conner said with a smile as he submitted his hunting report “I think we should get cleaned up." Conner added as he looked at the blood and mud on his hunting clothes and the blood and mud that clung to Daniella's scales.

Daniella smiled before grabbing the garden hose and rinsing herself off before shaking and stepping inside.

Conner put his hunting clothes in the washing machine and turned it on, he began to reach for the detergent subconsciously before pulling his hand back “That is a mistake I will not be making!" Conner said aloud to himself as he closed the lid of the washing machine before walking toward the shower room naked.

Daniella stepped out of the shower upstairs when she thought of something “Fuck it, worst he can say is no. I've waited FAR too long." Daniella said to herself as she made her way to the basement.

Conner was sitting on the false rock bench in the padded room of the shower cave when something grabbed his thighs. Conner yelped and tried to get up but was met with the face of a dragon appearing from thin air looking lustfully at him.

“This is Overwatch Two to Command, we found the crash site and something is fighting with a deathworm. It fired some sort of beam at the worm and the worm leapt out of the way and the beam ripped through four sand dunes sending rock and sand everywhere before continuing into the sky."

“What should we do, Command?" the other fighter pilot asked.

“Observe and do not engage, we have no idea what this thing is capable of." Command responded.

Conner jumped back as the deathworm burst up from the sand again and Conner raised his arm and fired, catching the worm square in what could be considered its chest. The beam of energy ripped the creature's upper portion clean off before traveling off into the sky. The railgun on the armours arm deconstructed and the plating shifted back to its original place, Conner snapped his head upward as two F-22 Raptors flew overhead.

Conner jumped to another roof top and as he reached the edge he saw sixteen armed men and a row of men facing a wall and a bunch of women and children being corralled to three trucks. Conner was panting, he reactivated his gauntlets before he began looking around him, his helmet's heads up display began scanning the surrounding area “No hostile targets detected." the AI said.

Conner sighed in relief before he launched into the sky.

“The car is rapidly approaching your position, be ready." an officer heard over his radio as he grabbed a spike strip. The officer looked up when he heard the roaring of an engine, he quickly moved into position and threw out the spike strip causing it to spread across the road.

The car flew over the spikes but he didn't hear so much as a hiss so he pulled back the spikes and his jaw dropped “We might have a problem, the spikes on the spike strip got flattened and I didn't hear even a hiss of air." the officer said over his radio in bewilderment.

Conner pulled himself back into the car and closed the sunroof, he put his Barrett away and deconstructed his Tek suit before activating his car's nos injection.

The entire house shook as the Dodge Charger entered the garage, Daniella grumbled and tossed around in the bed in her bedroom. She had never slept in this bed and she wasn't looking forward to it.
