Shelly practiced tae kwon do, and was well on her way to becoming a black belt. kyle, despite having long legs and being told by shelly's instructor that he would be a natural, declined to take up tae kwon do.

That Thing About 2 AM
He did tae-kwon-do, but not regularly. his headfur was long for a dude, perpetually bound in short ponytail. his sheath was larger than i'd thought. still his balls were almost tiny. but you can't have everything.
Sophomore Year: The New Kids
I tried every type of martial arts gym: karate, jiu jitsu, wrestling, tae kwon do, grappling, and none could handle my blend of striking and street style. after a while, i was starting to get upset.

When we were Young
When i hit 10 years old, i figured it was time for me to learn how to fend for myself in a fight and i took up tae kwon do. much to rick's dislike, i was soon to able to put him on the ground in any matter of seconds.
A Fresh Start
"jujitsu actually, and a little tae kwon do, been taking lessons since i was eight. congratulations, you're one of only two people to know that, besides my parents. and maybe those guys outside," i said, drawing a laugh from both of us.
