The individual cell blocks were there own gangs , but there were also intermediate gangs inside the cell blocks. there were 5 main gangs.

Sure inmates were restricted to their cell blocks unless they had a job or class that required them to leave their block but it was still so casual how everyone was allowed to do their own thing.
